Doesn't matter. This season is about developing Justin Fields while not getting him killed.

Indianapolis scores 25 in win against Raiders. Can anyone now set forth an argument why a head coach is even necessary?
Devil's advocate: ONLY 25 against the 2-7 Raiders? Jacksonville scored 27 last week and New Orleans shut them out the week before.

Umm, yeah, but a 1 point loss at the end to the top league team?
Who needs a head coach?

I really really don't like the sportsy publication "The Spun" and avoid it whenever possible but it keeps popping up on news feeds mostly MSN and FlipBoard. What I dislike it the most are its headlines that are almost always "(Somebody) reacts to (some news)" For example, "NFL World reacts to Rodgers serious injury" They don't tell you what the "serious injury" is, turns out it's not a serious injury, and nobody "reacts." But I accidentally clicked one today about fans in Detroit booing Bebe Rexha the halftime singer. I thought to myself, not even Philly would boo Rexha, what a bunch of assholes. Turns out, nobody booed her at all. Some people did boo the Bills team returning to the field, but not Rexha.

Here's the headline: "Look: NFL Thanksgiving Halftime Show Got Booed"
Here's from the article: "Bebe Rexha put on a show during her halftime performance at Ford Field.
Video of Rexha's performance has gone viral on social media on Thursday afternoon.
Not everyone was a fan of what happened, though. Some fans reportedly booed the halftime performance.

But if you click the video, it's hard even to find the "boos" and comments from those watching clearly explain who was being booed.

And yet, hours later, the article is still there. I wouldn't expect a retraction - it's not that big of a deal - but simply pulling the article wouldn't seem too much to expect.

It's bad enough that the headlines are simply blatant click-bait; it's style "somebody reacts" is annoying, but the bullshit inaccuracies make it less than worthless.

And I can't block the website because what I get is usually a repost through msn so it doesn't show "thespun" URL. It's annoying enough that I'm considering dropping the "Sports" section off my msn page or maybe dropping msn entirely. Which would be a big step since I've been using msn as a primary home page since 90-something.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/ works well for my purposes. There's lots of cross-posting with MSN and The Spun is not on the aggregated list, yet. National Review and Faux Noise are aggregated, but one can opt to "Show Less" of them. I've done so with National Review but not Faux Noise, yet. Also, the source is always IDed in the teasers, so I only click to sites I don't like by accident.

Yeah, I use yahoo news, too. Actually my "home page" consists of Canada MSN, Google News and Yahoo news. MSN has been tinkering with their site lately anyway, none of which is an improvement. For example, they've made the flip slide at the top of the page start over whenever you read an article. So you flip two or three pages, read an article and when you return it's started over - often with different articles. Good for keeping some mindlessly clicking through over and over, but not good for the selective reader. And they've cut down on how much you can customize the page.

... Wow, the Champion Rams really suck this year.
NFL picks against the spread: Rams' season is already miserable and it will get worse

Los Angeles Rams vs. Kansas City Chiefs in Week 12 was supposed to carry the Sunday NFL slate. There aren't many great post-Thanksgiving matchups, but Rams vs. Chiefs was supposed to be a battle of two Super Bowl contenders. We all remember 54-51 a few years ago.

Instead we get a Rams team that is a 14.5-point underdog against the Kansas City Chiefs at BetMGM and might not even be able to cover that.

The Rams have gone from one of the worst defending Super Bowl champions ever to almost assuredly the worst. Anything can happen, but the Rams are 3-7 and need to win five games to avoid becoming the second reigning champ to lose double-digit games. The 1999 Denver Broncos were 6-10. The 2022 Rams would be lucky to only lose 10....

We've had just one game with a 14-point spread this season, and the Buffalo Bills beat the underdog Pittsburgh Steelers 38-3 in Week 5. Going back to Week 15 of last season, four of the last six teams that were at least 14-point underdogs have failed to cover. I want to take the Rams because it's the NFL and 14.5 points is a lot, but I can't figure out how the Rams score....

Second week of NFL pre-season and nobody here has mentioned it.
Seahawks have apparently decided to sit this season out,
Tied for the NFC West lead.
I haven't forgiven the Chargers,
5-5, a game out of Wildcard consideration.
despise the management of the team formerly known as the 'Skins,
6-5, NFC East cellar, half a game out of Wildcard consideration.
am ambivalent about the Iggles.
9-1, best in the NFL.
Maybe I'll go for the Rams this year, at the risk of being called a bandwagon-jumper.
Opps. Jinx!
Or maybe I'll spend Sundays on a trail or at the beach. Yawn
Note to self - Bet exactly opposite of O Really's pre-season picks, other than the hikes and beach part. :P

True dat.

I'm sure I wrote a few pages back that I'm glad I don't bet on the NFL.

What also has changed is how so many games are ending like the NBA.

Slog it out for 55 minutes or so then five minutes of fast breaks for an exciting finish and a win for whoever has the ball last.

I've got Bears Jets early. Battle of backups.

Late is Traitors/Seahawks and KC/Rams.

The weather is crappy.

I'm seeing a future of laundry and a nap.

:D

At the moment, halftime or near it for most games - Out of 7 games 3 are tie at 10-10:
Tampa Bay - Cleveland
Cincinnati - Tennessee
Atlanta - Washington

Then, there's:
Chicago 10, Jets 17
Denver 3, Carolina 10

Baltimore 9, Jacksonville 7, but the start was delayed and Jacksonville is driving.
EDIT: Yep, Baltimore 9, Jacksonville 10.

The only complete outlier is Houston 0, Miami 30 .

Weird.
