Ah, I read the WLOS article but not thedailybeast article last night.

... The sheriff did not suggest what the motive might be, but a local conservative activist who organized a protest against a drag show said on Facebook that she was visited by deputies.

“I welcomed them to my home. Sorry they wasted their time,” Emily Grace Rainey wrote.

“I told them that God works in mysterious ways and is responsible for the outage. I used the opportunity to tell them about the immoral drag show and the blasphemies screamed by its supporters. I told them God is chastising Moore County, thanked them for coming and wished them a good night. Thankful for the LEOs service, as always.”

Two hours earlier, Rainey had posted the message: “The power is out in Moore County and I know why.” And around the same time, she posted a picture of the Sunrise Theater, which was putting on the sold-out drag show, with the caption “God will not be mocked.”

Several dozen protesters gathered outside the theater Saturday evening, and the show, “Downtown Divas,” a fundraiser for Sandhills Pride, went on under tight security.

It was unclear whether investigators think the vandalism that caused the power outage had any connection to the event.

Could be that Rainey is a terrorist or knows the terrorists, or could just be that she's claiming an unrelated event as we've so often seen terrorists do. Either way, I hope the affected and endangered customers react with disgust to Rainey and her bigoted Klan.

Marjorie Taylor Greene And Lauren Boebert Get Personal In Very Public Spat
The extremist congresswoman from Georgia accused her Colorado counterpart of "high school drama."

... At a Turning Point USA conference in Phoenix, Boebert criticized Greene for backing current House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (Calif.) for speaker.

“I’ve been aligned with Marjorie and accused of believing a lot of the things that she believes in,” Boebert said. “I don’t believe in this just like I don’t believe in ... Jewish space lasers,” she added, referring to one of Greene’s most widely-ridiculed conspiracy theories....




In the wake of Republicans’ underwhelming results in the midterms, Boebert declined to endorse Donald Trump’s 2024 bid last month, saying she was a “huge supporter” of the former president but also “loves” his potential rival for the Republican nomination, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

She has also stopped short of supporting McCarthy as he vies to resume the speakership with a narrow GOP majority in January. She said Monday she would not back him unless there was a mechanism to remove him from the position.

Greene has broken with an alliance of far-right lawmakers who oppose McCarthy’s challenge and thrown her full support behind him.

I have no doubt that Meadows is a total slime bucket, and I have not one bit of sympathy for the misery the asshole has heaped upon himself. However, it does look like he's another prime example of "anything Trump touches dies". Before getting involved with Trump, Meadows had a nice life, a Congressional seat that he probably could keep forever, an easy job for him requiring really nothing in a district that has very low expectations of its "representatives." He might not even have had to show up very often, certainly not having to do any serious work. Just press the "no" or "yes" button depending on whether it was a Dem or Repug bill. That's about it. Not much controversy or drama, nice house, easy paycheck. Then came his association with Trump and he's not only named "worst ever" chief, but has a good likelihood of criminal charges. Again, no sympathy only scorn, but more collateral Trump damage.

Sort of. Pre-Dolt .45 Meadows had already distinguished himself as longtime chair of the House Freedom (Fascism) Caucus, though that didn't hurt his perpetual reelection here.
