It begins. #winning

Supposedly, they're not really "new". Many are covering a multi-year hiring freeze or will cover 50K (?) anticipated retirements in the next couple of years or so.O Really wrote: ↑Thu Jan 12, 2023 12:12 pmIn theory, nobody likes the IRS - the "tax men" the "revenooers" etc. But a lot of those people really like getting their refund promptly and accurately. I don't get refunds, so I don't really care, but slow processing has been a widespread complaint over the past few years. I don't know whether the IRS needs 87K new agents or not, but fershure they need some. Repugs are fundamentally stupid.
Kevin McCarthy (SINO McCarthy)
@SpeakerMcCarthy
In the first 5 days of the Republican-controlled House we:
• Stripped funding for 87,000 IRS agents No, they didn't. DOA in the Senate, would be vetoed by Joe.
• Established a Select Committee on China
• Created a panel to investigate the weaponization of government Others call it the Coverup Committee, openly intended to quash legit investigations.
Of course, but it still shows where their brain is(n't).
Great minds.

The train wreck that is the Republican party is about to turn into a rudderless ship.
He'll probably get the speakership eventually, but he will also be diminished even more than he already is.
Zero legislation will be signed into law in the next two years amidst the government shutdowns which will accomplish nothing and eventually will reopen under some sort of continuing resolution that will ultimately cost the taxpayers more than not shutting down.
Then they'll blame the Democrats.
The outlook for 2024 is looking up.
DOA, just as the tweet you posted at the top of the page says.
Yet some 60,000,000 idiots vote in favor of issues that hurt them personally while supporting 1 or 2 issues that they have been taught by fox and others to be more Scary than even their own children's health.
Stupid assholes being stupid assholes:Whack9 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 15, 2023 4:46 pmLooks like the US is set to reach the debt ceiling Thursday.
Given the batch of crazies making it mainstream in Congress, I wonder what the chances are the US actually defaults this time around?
I hate that these stupid assholes get to play with our lives like this.
This is money the US already borrowed on in past budgets. It's not new spending that magically appeared. Pay up.
That's a rather amazing and revolting story.Vrede too wrote: ↑Mon Jan 23, 2023 3:06 pmStupid assholes being stupid assholes:Whack9 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 15, 2023 4:46 pmLooks like the US is set to reach the debt ceiling Thursday.

How Kevin McCarthy Forged an Ironclad Bond With Marjorie Taylor Greene
The modern GQP adores and honors its immature, slow, hateful extremists like EmptyG.
AFAIK, too lazy to check each one. The Dems may nominate their own members, or they may boycott the farces.

Two to one says that booting Schiff et al from committees was part of the backroom deal for her support.
The non-extremists may be revolting. SINO McCarthy can only afford to have 4 not vote.
Republican Rep. Spartz opposes McCarthy effort to boot Democrats from committees
Rep. Victoria Spartz, R-Ind., said Tuesday she'll oppose Speaker Kevin McCarthy's efforts to keep a handful of Democrats off key House committees....
Spartz's statement came in response to McCarthy's stated intentions to remove Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., from the Foreign Affairs Committee and keep Reps. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., and Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., off the Intelligence Committee....
Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., would also vote against booting Democrats like Omar from committees, a spokesperson said, adding that Mace intends to be consistent after having voted against removing Greene from committees.
LOL
Absentees may be the best we can hope for, but they would have the same effect.
