Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Awful.

Some Americans supported South African apartheid, too, and leveled ugly slurs at critics of it. Sad.

President Carter was vilified for calling the Israeli system apartheid. Some even called him an anti-Semite because he pointed out a simple fact.

Interesting...
While the far right has been largely responsible for recent violent antisemitism in the United States, the far left has also been responsible for promoting antisemitic agendas, if not directly driving violence. Antifa and other far-left activists have been linked to violence on university campuses during protests against visiting Israeli officials and in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) campaign against Israel, which seeks a cultural and economic boycott of the state.*

A December 2019 report by StopAntisemitism.org and Zachor Legal Institute concluded that BDS “directly drives anti-Semitism and radicalizes public discourse in Western democracies.”* Its authors also found an overlap between BDS and far-right rhetoric, which they deemed “an increasingly public intellectual and philosophical alliance between the BDS movement and far-right groups.”*

While those on the far-left have used antisemitic rhetoric and tactics, antisemitism is not universal to these movements. Unlike far-right groups, far-left movements lack well-established hierarchies and organizational structures, which means there are also no specific unifying philosophies or tactics. One group of antifa activists may act fundamentally differently from another.

Right-wingers will often create a false equivalence with left-wingers on the topic and they even cite anti-Muslim orgs made up of former Shrub officials to support their Israeli govt-aping case. :puke-left:

Speaking of right-wingers, the hateful Buffalo shooter was not just anti-Black.
The Buffalo shooting suspect posted an apparent manifesto citing 'Great Replacement' theory

... The manifesto includes dozens of pages antisemitic and racist memes, repeatedly citing the racist “Great Replacement” conspiracy theory frequently pushed by white supremacists, which falsely alleges white people are being “replaced” in America as part of an elaborate Jewish conspiracy theory. Other memes use tropes and discredited data to denigrate the intelligence of non-white people.

In the manifesto, Gendron claims that he was radicalized on 4chan while he was “bored” at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic in early 2020.

The document also claims “critical race theory,” a recent right-wing talking point that has come to generally encompass teaching about race in school, is part of a Jewish plot, and a reason to justify mass killings of Jews....

The theory has been cited by several mass shooters since 2018, including Robert Bowers who is charged with killing 11 people at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 2018, Patrick Crusius who allegedly killed 23 people in an El Paso, Texas, Walmart and John Earnest killed one and injured three others at a Poway, California, synagogue in 2019.

Yeah. But trump would call him a sucker and a loser. The Republicans have for decades disparaged Carter and labeled his administration one of "malaise." I suspect those same Republicans knew at the time that the era of malaise was just beginning. And we're smack in the midst of it now.

Speaking of the 'fog of war':
Shireen Abu Akleh: Al Jazeera accuses Israel of shooting dead journalist in West Bank

... The Qatari-based broadcaster said Shireen Abu Akleh, a well-known Palestinian and American female reporter, was killed by Israeli forces.

... Another journalist, working for the Jerusalem-based Al-Quds newspaper, was also shot and wounded in the incident.

The Israeli military disputed that its forces had shot the two journalists.

It said Israeli soldiers came under attack with heavy gunfire and explosives while operating in Jenin, and that they fired back. The military said it is “investigating the event and looking into the possibility that the journalists were hit by the Palestinian gunmen”....
PBS called her a "household name" across the region for her years of quality reporting. I'll bet that the IDF killed her, but -0-? . I am certain that if the IDF did kill her there will be lots of bluster but no significant repercussions from the US govt.

Fuck Israel.

https://news.yahoo.com/slain-al-jazeera ... 31469.html

"... Israeli riot police on Friday pushed and beat pallbearers at the funeral for slain Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, causing them to briefly drop the casket in a shocking start to a procession that turned into perhaps the largest display of Palestinian nationalism in Jerusalem in a generation....

Ahead of the burial, a large crowd gathered to escort her casket from an east Jerusalem hospital to a Catholic church in the nearby Old City. Many of the mourners held Palestinian flags, and the crowd began shouting, 'We sacrifice our soul and blood for you, Shireen.'”

Well that was too much for the thug police who moved in and beat the people in the mourners, including the pall bearers.

Israel, where only jews have rights.

And of course everyone on both sides with a phone had a camera, but no one has stills or video of the poor riot police being hit with stones.
4 months later:

Israeli army: 'High probability' soldier killed reporter

Surprise surprise, the Israeli army lied and the Palestinians and Al Jazeera were correct all along.

Fuck Israel.

The Yahoo forum blocks "BDS", which I intended to stand for Biden Derangement Syndrome. However, it accepts "JDS". :headscratch: Could it be that Yahoo agrees with or has succumbed to Israeli pressure to stifle even mentioning Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions? -0-? Maybe Yahoo thinks it stands for Big Dicks or Big Dykes. We're never told exactly why the auto-censor is blocking a post.

The right will win
We will give them billions of dollars to buy weapons from American arms companies
Israel will sell the arms for a 100% profit.
Israel will continue to abuse the Palestinians and steal their land until someone steps in to stop them
WW3 starts the next day after we claim we have to protect Israel.

A little embarrased to say I didn't even know where Azerbaijan was. It's located in the middle of the former Soviet Stan countries on the Caspian Sea.

I've never gotten a handle on the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict other than it being a long simmering territorial dispute. Is there a "good" side? I do think a little less of Azerbaijan now, but do they love Israel or just its weapons?

Knowing nothing but looking at the map I'm guessing that any unrest at Tehran's front door makes Israel happy.
