2024 Elections

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Yeah, sorry but even if RFK Jr. wasn't more than a bit batshit his voice affliction would give me pause. It's not a "presidential" voice. In fact, it's annoying as fuck.

Faux Noise says that its Dem polling shows:
Biden 62%
RFK Jr + Marianne Williamson 28%

A whole bunch of someones need to have a serious talk with Biden. Maybe he could sour the republican kool-aid with his exit.

Obviously getting ready for her Navy Seal training. A backup plan is always wise.

I don't know what kind of gun that is, but there's no magazine and her finger's on the trigger. -0-? Staged? Oh, hell yes. Badly staged, maybe.

Opps, not a sniper rifle. It also doesn't have a magazine. It's belt fed and the little coils are what connect bullets. The belt feeds from the left and maybe also the right. It looks like Nikki doesn't have one, but Idk.
That’s the new infantry squad automatic weapon, M250 ... It’s not for civilian sale.
XM250

The XM250 is the U.S. military designation for the SIG-LMG, a 6.8×51mm, gas-operated, belt-fed, light machine gun designed by SIG Sauer for the U.S. Army's Next Generation Squad Weapon Program in 2022 to replace the M249 light machine gun....

I swear I read something yesterday that Feinstein was not going to run. It gave me the 1st chance I've had to feel good about anything she's done in the last few years.

So now war criminal Pelosi and the ultimate sexist Gillibrand are calling AOC a sexist fir speaking out against this 89 year old profile of a grifting Democrat with age related mental issues. Sure thing, saying that 6 more years for a less than healthy, less than active 89 year old is sexist.
Why isn't she being primaried?

... In January 2023, California representatives Katie Porter and Adam Schiff launched their campaigns for the Senate seat Feinstein holds. The next month, Feinstein announced she would not seek reelection. Because of her age and reports of mental decline, Feinstein's cognitive ability to serve is a matter of debate....

Health and job role capacity

In March 2023, Feinstein was diagnosed with shingles, sparking concern about whether she would return to the Senate. In April 2023, media outlets including the San Francisco Chronicle reported that she had been absent from over 50 Senate votes while recovering from shingles. This, combined with the absence of Senator John Fetterman, effectively stalled many of the Biden administration's judicial and executive nominees. Dick Durbin, who chairs the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary, on which Feinstein serves, told CNN that Feinstein's absences were slowing down the committee, which had a partisan tie of 10–10 without her. In response, Representative Ro Khanna publicly urged Feinstein to resign; Representative Dean Phillips concurred on Twitter. Feinstein said she would request temporary removal from the Judiciary Committee, but resisted calls to resign....
I assume that AOC has joined this 'Resign now' chorus, and fuck Pelosi and Gillibrand if you're correct.

I can't see how anyone forgave Gillibrand after her insane sexist attacks drove Frankin out of the Senate.
Al would be a great choice for president.

Meanwhile, guess who has his de facto Senate Majority Leader post back.

Manchin threatens to back repeal of major climate and tax measure over Biden's energy policies
Manchin, who negotiated the sweeping climate, health and tax package known as the Inflation Reduction Act, said the administration has "completely" disregarded the measure's investments in fossil fuel.

Why give him any air at all?

They speak more reasonably now than they will after the Primary when they'll all come together in support of the winner by November.
That is - unless DeSantis wins and trump saves us all by running as a 3rd party and splitting the gop.
There's an alternative 3rd party scenario that gets Former PINO elected.
A Trump-Biden rematch? Pass, says this group searching for a third-party option in 2024

... The bipartisan group No Labels, a nonprofit organization that promotes centrist politics and policies, has launched a campaign to get a third-party candidate on the ballot in all 50 states in next year’s presidential election. The group already has secured a place on the ballot in Arizona, Colorado, Alaska and Oregon.

The movement, which has yet to settle on a candidate, is funded by $70 million from donors whose names the group refuses to disclose. The possibility of an independent candidate is causing consternation among Democrats and even some Republicans, who fear a third-party ticket would siphon off votes from Biden and send Trump back to the White House for another four years....

A third-party challenger can’t win the presidency – it hasn’t happened in the country’s 247-year history, and it won’t happen in 2024, Bennett said. But a third-party candidate could act as a spoiler and increase Trump’s odds of winning again, he said....

No Labels is refusing to disclose who is putting up the $70 million to secure slots on the state ballots, saying only that its donors hail from across the country and across the political spectrum.
Never Trumpers outnumber Trumpettes, but the Cult .45 outnumbers the pro-Biden crowd. No Labels and its mysterious $70 million donors are stalking horses for TRE45QN. :angry-cussing:
... The last time a former president tried to recapture the office was in 1912, when Republican Teddy Roosevelt ran on the Bull Moose Party just four years after leaving the White House.

Roosevelt was one of the most popular presidents in history – his face would be carved into Mount Rushmore just a few years later – but he didn’t come close to winning again. Roosevelt captured 88 electoral votes and more than 27% of the popular vote, far short of what he needed to win the presidency. But his candidacy split the GOP vote and helped send the Democratic candidate, Woodrow Wilson, to the White House.

Other third-party candidates – notably Ross Perot in 1992 and Ralph Nader in 2000 – commanded considerable attention but failed to win a single electoral vote.

Perot was accused at the time of costing Republican George H.W. Bush a second term, although more recent analyses have suggested that he pulled votes from both Bush and Democrat Bill Clinton, the winner. Nader, running as the Green Party nominee in 2000, won more than 97,000 votes in Florida – a state that Democrat Al Gore lost by 537 votes, costing him the presidency in a close election....
Blame billy.pilgrim :ateeth: . Will he do it to America and the world again?
