I'm not sure how this occurred, what with advance taping of shows, and Meisner wasn't mentioned, but one of the puzzles on "Wheel of Fortune" was "Taking it to the limit"

:wtf: Vanna killed Randy Meisner. Bastard.

This Wheel of Fortune Game Recap – Friday, July 28 2023 confirms what you noticed, but makes no mention of the coincidence. Searching "Wheel of Fortune" + "Taking it to the limit" also returns silence. -0-?

Fwiw, the song is "Take" rather than "Taking", but that's not a big difference.

Yeah, I know the name - it's one of my all time favourite songs. But still that it was that close is quite a coincidence, don'tcha think? The other interesting thing about that "Wheel" episode is that Vanna had on Barbie-ish pink and the set was pinkish as if it were helping to promote the film, but unlike most promo tie-ins, no mention was made of Barbie.

Huge. Equally strange is that you're the only one that seems to have noticed.

I was too old for Pee-wee Herman's appeal to kids. I liked him in some dramatic roles like in Blow (2001) and The Blacklist (2014–2015).

RIPee-wee.

RIP Pac-12
Cal's Justin Wilcox laments 'shocking,' 'sad' Pac-12 situation

Cal football coach Justin Wilcox, who played in the Pac-10 and has spent much of his career in the Pac-12, called Friday's departures of five teams to other conferences "sad" and likely preventable.

After Oregon and Washington announced their departures for the Big Ten in 2024, and Arizona, Arizona State and Utah did the same to join the Big 12, Cal is one of only four remaining Pac-12 members, along with Stanford, Oregon State and Washington State.

The departures rocked the 108-year-old conference, which had already lost USC and UCLA to the Big Ten. Big Ten presidents initially considered adding Cal and Stanford as well last week, according to sources, before honing in on Oregon and Washington.
Not sure if I'll ever get over this.
... Wilcox is the first coach of the four remaining Pac-12 schools to speak out since the five departures, but Washington State's Jake Dickert hinted at what could be coming Thursday, questioning the influence of media companies in shaping conferences and realignment.

"The old question of: How long would it take TV money to destroy college football? Maybe we're here," Dickert said. "To think even remotely five years ago, the Pac-12 would be in this position, it's unthinkable to think we're here today. To think local rivalries are at risk and fans driving four hours to watch their team play in a road game is at risk, to me, is unbelievable. ... We'll look back at college football in 20 years and say, 'What are we doing?'"

I found out about it from ABC news last night. Hated to hear it. I'll be getting out "The Last Waltz" today in tribute.

Nah, I was referring to the two disc music cd. I've had it since it came out.

There's a link to the full movie above. It's also on either Prime or Netflix

You have linked the 4+ hour "Full Concert" here and in the other thread. The 2 hour Martin Scorsese movie is different, and has to be streamed AFAIK.

Ah, the music is good enough for me. I have seen Ronnie Hawkins doing "Who Do You Love?" from The Last Waltz. Also Joni Mitchell's part in it. Sure would have been something to have been there.
