That's where you are? If so, phew.
Right hook over the very warm Atlantic. Could this be one of those storms that loops, strengthens and hits again?
Would that make it Bidalia?

Who is saying that? A TS across the southern tip of SC as it thankfully moves into the Atlantic as another Fish Storm seems much more likely to me.

Yeah, no matter if it takes an earlier turn than the WU map (the same noaa map I posted plus experts and more - I'm pretty sure) there will be wet water, big wet water in Savannah and Hilton Head and wind too.GoCubsGo wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2023 11:47 pmSavannah and Hilton Head are going to have a bad day also.Vrede too wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2023 11:42 pmYes.billy.pilgrim wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2023 11:35 pmWho is saying that? Just watched. The Gulf isn't but a few feet deep for miles beginning around Hernando County up through the Big Bend. Prime for surge. There will surely be damage, but old construction on Cedar Key has been replaced. We'll see.
"ptsd property damage"?billy.pilgrim wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2023 9:02 amJust watched. The Gulf isn't but a few feet deep for miles beginning around Hernando County up through the Big Bend. Prime for surge. There will surely be damage, but old construction on Cedar Key has been replaced. We'll see.
There may be more ptsd property damage.

They thought it might reach Cat 4 before landfall, but it didn't. Must have been close.
Cat 2 all the way to the FL-GA line.
Cat 1 or close to it right through Charleston. Surge this eve.
Powerful, but coulda been worse. Still:billy.pilgrim wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2023 12:22 pmLooks like good news. It's moving at 20 mph. If you get it, it won't be for long.
And they usually speed up over land
As I may have said, only 7 people live in the Big Bend areaVrede too wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2023 10:44 amPowerful, but coulda been worse. Still:billy.pilgrim wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2023 12:22 pmLooks like good news. It's moving at 20 mph. If you get it, it won't be for long.

The ways Hurricane Idalia made history
China is getting buffeted by 2 hurricanes and there may be a 3rd en route.

Wasn't terrible:billy.pilgrim wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2023 11:17 am... And my favorite burger/ gumbo stop when traveling through the Big Bend definitely has another mark on the wall (actually the surge marks are on a piling near the bar.
Cedar Key, 140 miles away, did worse. I've been there and can picture the flooding.

In Cedar Key, Hurricane Idalia turned a ‘haven for artists’ into a flooded wreck
Not good in a cycloneKutupalong refugee camp
Kutupalong refugee camp (Bengali: কুতুপালং শরণার্থী শিবির) is the world's largest refugee camp. It is in Ukhia, Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, inhabited mostly by Rohingya refugees that fled from ethnic and religious persecution in neighboring Myanmar. It is one of two government-run refugee camps in Cox's Bazar, the other being the Nayapara refugee camp....
