Glad I didn't have money on that one.
You actually got lucky, this is embarrassing.
I blame Godwin (14), too. Where did he think the Hail Mary would go? 13 got impeded some, but it's iffy whether he could have reached the ball. There's that hand briefly on 14's hip, but it would have been a ticky-tacky interference call. I'm not sure what "tackle" MLFootball is referring to.GoCubsGo wrote: ↑Fri Oct 27, 2023 12:59 amYou actually got lucky, this is embarrassing.

Yes, a TV game that I care about.Christian McCaffrey ties mark for TDs in consecutive games
... McCaffrey made a little bit of history against the Cincinnati Bengals at Levi's Stadium, scoring a touchdown in his 17th consecutive game. That ties him with Lenny Moore, the Baltimore Colts Hall of Fame running back/receiver, for the longest streak in NFL history. Moore's streak stretched over the 1963-64 seasons....Eat your hearts out, 1-6 Panthers.

Oh man, that 2 qtr drop in the end zoneWill it cost them?
Nope, got the TD and left the Traitors with only 01:47 in the half. So, the drop was probably for the best, 7-17.
Sheesh, defense would be nice, Traitors drive and TD with 0:04 left. 7-24. What else is on TV?
They never show up in L.A. The lights are too bright.

In addition, there will be a new backup quarterback behind Justin Fields. Sources say Tyson Bagent, a former undrafted rookie free agent, will assume the role of No. 2 QB moving forward. The decision has nothing to do with Fields' standing, but it does have to do with a young, promising QB deserving a promotion from No. 3 to No. 2.Should have gone with Kap.

Bears' Tyson Bagent has shot at redemption in third start
... the fourth D-II quarterback in the past 20 years to start an NFL game.
That narrative gained national attention in Week 7 when Bagent helped lead the Bears to victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. Bagent will get his third start at the New Orleans Saints on Sunday (1 p.m. ET, CBS). Justin Fields, who continues to recover from a dislocated right thumb, is week-to-week and will return as the starter when he's healthy.
... he was the best player on the team for four years, with a work ethic ingrained by a larger-than-life father who won 17 world arm wrestling titles. Bagent was the only D-II player invited to the Senior Bowl and one of three invited to the combine. He has faced long odds before. But maybe not quite like this.
The Bears, who have lost 16 of 18 games, need to find out what they has in Fields because if they get the No. 1 pick next spring it would mean a chance to draft USC QB Caleb Williams or North Carolina QB Drake Maye. So Bagent will play just when needed.
Interesting article, GoTysonGo!... Bagent passed on a chance to walk on at West Virginia, choosing instead to follow in the footsteps of his mother, Casey, and father, Travis, and attend Shepherd.
He won the starting job as a freshman and threw a school-record 518 yards in his first start against Notre Dame College (Ohio), the reigning champions of the Mountain East Conference.
"No one had ever heard about Tyson Bagent, especially in Ohio," said Tyler Haines, Shepherd's former offensive coordinator. "Everyone immediately went to that film and said 'Who is this kid? What is going on?' And the rest is history. An 18-year-old kid taking over this conference."
... In four seasons, Bagent set 27 school and NCAA passing records. As a junior in 2021, he won the Harlon Hill Award -- the Division II equivalent of the Heisman Trophy.
... PERHAPS NO ONE was more influential in exposing Bagent to NFL representatives than Jim Nagy, the executive director of the Senior Bowl, who came to Shepherd to hand deliver the quarterback's invitation to the annual college all-star game.
What Nagy had seen reminded him of another small-school quarterback who went on to make it big: Eastern Illinois' Tony Romo....
Bagent joked that his paycheck would look different because of all the money he used to purchase tickets for 55 family members and friends in (Raiders) attendance. He ended up spending $9,010....

Mark Davis on firings: Raiders were heading in 'wrong direction'
Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis had given himself the NFL's Oct. 31 trade deadline as his personal deadline to decide whether to make a switch not only at head coach but at general manager.
Davis ultimately fired Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler from those positions Tuesday night, less than two years after he hired them away from the New England Patriots....

McDaniels was 9-16, .360, not enough time to decide if he was building a team or not. This also happened to him in Denver 2009-2010. He was 11-17 there, .393.

If 47 year old McDaniels ever gets another shot he's learned to sacrifice everything in order to get 1st or 2nd year wins.
Was that because they dumped McDaniels or because of what he built? Ftr, Denver was only 8-8 in 2011 in what was a really sucky year for the AFC West. San Diego and Oakland were also both 8–8 while KC was 7–9.
