Trump on Trial

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

The entire thing with trump and his trials and his lawyers reminds me of an old skit from "In Living Color" when one of the Wayans brothers acted like a homeless guy who was in court. He's wearing an old shabby trench coat and stands to address the judge, saying "your honor, I want to act as my own executioner in this case" and a few minutes later he pulls a large pickle jar from underneath the coat (half full of some liquid and what appears to be a pickle disguised as a large turd), then announces that he's "brought my own facilities." I find both scenes equally humorous.
Here ya' go. Enjoy again.

It's a must cower, must whine situation for sure. I'm waiting on the final ruling of the judge (perhaps this week) and predicting that it will result in the sort of whining fits and further pleas for money.....it'll be a whining, pleading miasma the likes of which nobody's ever seen before.

Speaking of pathetic whining, is there any part of this "statement" that's true?

Well, I suppose the pathetic whining aspect is true, but nothing else about it is. Hell, if he's so innocent, you'd think he'd want to have all this over with as soon as possible. I mean, he squawks his innocence daily. If he's so innocent, he should welcome the chance to prove it instead of trying to drag all this out as long as possible. But I guess he has to keep repeating all this bullshit on a daily basis if for no other reason than to keep drilling it into the empty heads of his cult. The whole thing is worse than meat sickness.

Whoever won here like their lights.

https://www.sandiegofamily.com/things-t ... mas-lights

Last night we cruised up the beach from La Jolla and every town was decked out. The arboretum has a light show; the zoo has "Jungle Bells"; all places have the town tree and several have parades in addition to the San Diego harbor light parade.

I always thought the repugs were the ones pushing the "war" by claiming Dems/libs wanted to stifle Christmas. There are few repugs around here and Christmas is booming. Ya' think the repugs might have been lying about the Christmas war like most other wars they've ever started?

Must be different from what American hero Reality Winner leaked and then patriot Robert Mueller exposed. I wonder what they're still hiding?

It's beginning to look a lot like xmas.
Trump's million-dollar expert 'lost all credibility,' judge in civil fraud trial says

... Eli Bartov, a New York University accounting professor, testified on Dec. 7 that he did not see any evidence of fraud in Trump's family real estate company's financial statements, which New York state's attorney general alleges overstated property values in order to win favorable loan and insurance terms.

Bartov testified that he spent 650 hours on the case at a rate of $1,350 per hour, meaning his compensation totaled around $877,500. Bartov said his invoices were paid both by the Trump Organization and by Save America, a political action committee supporting Trump's 2024 election campaign.
 Campaign donor dollars diverted. Dupes.
"All that his testimony proves is that for a million or so dollars, some experts will say whatever you want them to say," Justice Arthur Engoron wrote in a scathing denial of several requests by Trump for the case to be decided in his favor.

"By doggedly attempting to justify every misstatement, Professor Bartov lost all credibility," Engoron wrote.
:---P
... The trial has focused mostly on damages, as Engoron ruled before it started in early October that Trump and his adult sons manipulated financial statements to dupe banks and insurers.

New York Attorney General Letitia James, a Democrat, is seeking $250 million in penalties and wants Trump banned from the New York state real estate business....

In his three-page written ruling, Engoron acknowledged the defense's argument that property valuations are subjective and that inaccurate information in financial statements must be "material" to break the law. But he said Trump's statements were "replete with examples of material misstatements."

"A lie is still a lie," Engoron wrote.
:---P
Closing arguments in the trial are set for Jan. 11.

Trump separately faces four state and federal criminal indictments, including two over charges he sought to overturn his loss to Democratic President Joe Biden in the 2020 election. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Bleed the family (or campaign coffers) dry, 86 them from NY business operations, lock him up!
