Don't get me wrong. I don't care about Pat McAfee and am annoyed that he tolerated Kaaron at all. I don't watch his show and am not going to start now. I'm just happy to see Kaaron get spanked and humiliated.GoCubsGo wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 10:37 pmBFD.Vrede too wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 8:12 pm
CANCELLED!
"Aaron Rodgers, season four is officially done," the former Indianapolis Colts punter said. "There's gonna be a lot of people happy with that, myself included, to be honest. The way it ended, it got real loud. I am happy that that is not gonna be in my mentions going forward." ...![]()
McAfee proves he likes $$ more than Kaaron.

Bye bye.
A little surprising. Thought they'd work something out. Rarely does an NFL head coach get a happy ending. Legends like Landry, Noll and Shula ( who admittedly stayed too long) come to mind.

Reports are that Belichick is deflated
Bill Belichick joins Don Shula, George Halas as only coaches with 300 wins, fueling greatest NFL coach debate
Also, Belichick leaves with 302 regular-season wins. Belichick:

Kraft is most likely going to want changes (like an actual GM, a role that Belichick hasn't excelled in), will Belichick accept them or does he have too much ego?

Incomplete paragraph. The third coach, as GoCubsGo knows, is:... He became the third coach in NFL history to reach 300 regular-season wins. His time with the Patriots ended before he could pass Don Shula's record of 328 wins. His 31 postseason victories are an NFL record, however.

Tom Landry and Bill Cowher came to mind, but both have worse averages.

Different era's may need an asterisk, there were no rounds of playoff games. Just the championship.

True, and that massively affects the number of Playoff opportunities, but an asterisk for postseason average? The expanded Playoffs mean that there are more mediocre teams for a champion to stomp.GoCubsGo wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 10:59 amOpps, how could I forget?Vrede too wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 10:54 am

Belichick is without doubt among the winningest coaches ever and probably nobody is ever going to get 6 Super Bows wins again. But it might be noticed that he hasn't won all that much since Brady moved on and since Belichick has been coach and GM in charge of games and player personnel, it's kinda hard to find anybody else to blame the decline on. And given also that he's a bit of a jerk, if I were a team owner I think I'd pass.

Jerod Mayo hired to replace Bill Belichick as Patriots coach

I think I can start rooting for the Pats, Massachusetts and greater New England again. It's been awhile.... Mayo, 37, is set to be formally introduced at a news conference Wednesday. He will be the youngest coach in the NFL, taking over a title that Sean McVay has held since being named Los Angeles Rams coach in 2017; Mayo is a month younger than McVay....
Mayo becomes the first Black head coach in Patriots history....
Browns favored to win playoff game for 1st time since 1994Kansas City Chiefs potentially hosting one of coldest NFL games
... The forecast for Saturday night is projected to reach minus-5 degrees Fahrenheit, according to the Weather Channel, which would make it the coldest ever football game in Kansas City. If the game were held in Miami, temperatures would reach a low of 62 degrees with a 30% chance of rain.
There's never been a football game in Kansas City that has reached negative temperatures. The coldest it's ever been is 1 degree Fahrenheit with a wind chill of minus-19 during a Chiefs-Tennessee Titans game in 2016. The coldest postseason game in Kansas City happened in 1996 during an 11-degree matchup between the Chiefs and Indianapolis Colts.
If temperatures dip below 0 degrees, it will be just the sixth such instance in NFL postseason history. Here's a look at five of the coldest NFL playoff games....
(tomorrow's game may be the new 3rd coldest)
They won that 1994 game. How long has it been, in other words? Bill Belichick was the Browns HC and they beat the Pats. It was his only postseason win in 4 years there

GoJoe FlaccoGo!... The perennially disappointing NFL franchise is making its second playoff appearance since 2020 after experiencing a 17-season playoff drought from 2003 through 2019; it's one of just four teams -- along with the Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars and the Houston Texans -- to have never appeared in a Super Bowl.
That has produced a shocking, but perhaps not surprising, betting stat: Through 12 qualifying games, Cleveland has never been a road playoff favorite in the Super Bowl era.
That changes Saturday when the Browns visit NRG Stadium in Houston as 2-point favorites, per ESPN BET odds....
Hey NFL, help me get over my cheatin' Michigan hangover.

Hoping the Fins can give Trav and Taylor an early offseason so they can enjoy each other's company. But doubtful it'll happen, especially in that weather.
