I was going to resentfully argue that my 1/6 and 2/6 were so brilliant and STARK that I had ruled out everything but the solution and STALL, but I now see that there were several other options without the early double letters guesses

Spoiler:
I was STEAMed.
I STARTed so well.
I then realized the odds were STACKed against me.
I should have STAFFed it out.
A bust would have been a STAIN on my long streak and made me reach for my (solution).

3/6 accidental Useless gained me a green, but I was still stumped.

That was definitely different.
Spoiler:
Did an intentional Useless with a plural because I was and couldn't think where to go. Once I did that it was pretty obvious.
There was only one possible solution left β and this wasnβt it. (MEALS is a valid guess, but itβs unlikely to be a solution based on what Iβve learned from playing Wordle.) But thereβs still only one solution remaining. You should solve the puzzle on your next turn.

I may have also had only one solution remaining after 2/6, 3/6 or 4/6. Didn't stop me from being an idiot
Spoiler:
I did the same thing with a 4/6 'S' plural.
It makes sense to call that an intentional Useless, so 2 Uselesses for me this game. I still floundered even though I knew the 3 central letters. Ugh.
Spoiler:
Guess I should have prayed

As did you, by 4/6 I guessed the (solution) to the final 4 letters.
But, I still had to use a metaphorical TALON to CATCH a (solution) that I hadn't already ruled out.
Was there a method to HATCH a (solution)?
How to PATCH in the correct first letter to find a (solution)?
It's not like a RATCH would just appear to me like "a blaze on an animal's face," or a BATIK with the hidden (solution).
"WATCH," I said, I'll avoid the heartache and blunder into a (solution) that is the (solution) (solution) with my first guess . . . unlike you .

Spoiler:
I had a BATCH of guesses while was trying to CATCH a break.
Looks like I got one.
Before your guess, I thought the solution could have been one of four words: PATCH, MATCH, HATCH or LATCH. With only one guess left, all you can do is pick the one you think is most likely. And you guessed correctly! A little lucky, but good for you.

Maybe I'm a little sleepy, but that's no excuse especially with such an excellent 1/6. I finally resorted to an intentional Useless on 5/6 which I had zero hope for, but it gave me the answer in seconds.
Nearly a new record, 26 minutes.

Had to do an intentional Useless on 3/6 also. Gave me an instant answer.

Spoiler:
Kind of amazing 2/6 after getting skunked on 1/6 and having 404 words left.
Great choice. SOUND wouldβve been one of my top picks. Youβve narrowed it down to only two remaining words: BUILD or GUILD.
