Wingnut Man states that aren't Florida, Alabama, Georgia, or the Carolinas

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Here, Florida Man - hold my beer.
A man who claimed he killed his friend because he believed the victim was summoning Bigfoot was convicted of murder.

Florida Man - hold my beer again:
21-year-old shoots stepmom as she goes to hug him at graduation, New Mexico police say

A 21-year-old shot his stepmother as she went in to hug him at his charter school graduation ceremony, New Mexico police say.
Graduating charter school at 21? :headscratch:
... Officers initially thought they were responding to an active shooter situation but later learned a single gunshot was fired, Gallegos said.

The investigation revealed that Bencomo’s stepmother “started to hug him,” and he pulled out a “handgun and shot her in the neck,” police said.

“We made it all the way through graduation – it was really lovely until it wasn’t,” Mary Ward, a witness, told KOB 4 Eyewitness News.
What was the point in ruining it for everyone?
The woman was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to Gallegos. She underwent “hours of surgery,” according to the organizers of a GoFundMe, who said she will need continued medical treatment and rehab.

Angel Chester, the woman’s sister, was close by when the shooting happened, KRQE News reported. Chester told the station she witnessed Bencomo stomp on her sister’s head following the shooting....
Failed New Mexico Man execution, amazing.

‘You have imprisoned our democracy’: inside Republicans’ domination of Tennessee
A year after the Covenant school shooting in Nashville – and a mass movement for gun control – Republicans have accelerated their attacks on democratic norms

:angry-banghead:

You may have a small window before this bill is signed and takes effect:

Tennessee legislature passes bill banning marriage between first cousins
Proposal sails through, with one vocal opponent saying gay first cousins do not risk having a child with birth defects

Good luck!
I think it's weird they felt the need to do this. Also weird that if it wasn't illegal before (tradition by default) why make it so now? I think some Republican legislator has had a bad experience with this sort of thing and the whold thing is because of a goddamn love story. I notice the new law does not say anything about marrying your aunt. Dubmasses.
Speaking of RepuQ TN Leg dubmasses:

Ken Yager, the Senate Republican Caucus chair in Tennessee, called the entire incident "unfortunate."

Opps. Good thing Yager is defending TN morality:
... The conservative legislator has voted against gender-affirming care for minors and voted to allow marriage clerks to refuse to wed couples if they object to the union based on their beliefs. He’s also supported measures to ban transgender girls from playing on a private school’s female teams and to allow teachers and others to refuse to call students by their preferred pronouns.

Yeah, they be doing some pretty stupid stuff down in Nashville. I figure they'll be even more wingnutty next year. I've long since stopped sending Marsha Blackburn hate mail since it's futile to the tenth power. And I think I've only sent a TN state legislator hate mail once or twice.... a more severe degree of futile.

I did see that story about the guy pissing himself a few days ago. Funny. I can honestly say I've never been that drunk. But I suppose if I found myself serving as a TN state legislator, it's entirely possible that after the first few days I'd be drinking on a pretty continual basis.
