Generally I don't try double letters until 4/6.

Excellent choice β PLUMB is exactly what I wouldβve picked in this situation. Youβve narrowed it down to only four words: DUMMY, GUMMY, MUMMY or YUMMY.

Of course you made the 1 in 4 choice ftw.
Spoiler:
I considered GUMMY as early as 2/6, but overthought it as being unlikely for Wordle.
Why is PLUMB "exactly what (Wordle) wouldβve picked" when there were 4 other options - 1 correct and 3 which would've "narrowed it down" even further than PLUMB did?

Good point. Maybe because it used more letters?

... On Wednesdayβs broadcast of ABCβs βThe View,β co-host Joy Behar asked the first lady what Democrats have to do to get across that her husband, President Joe Biden, is βcompetent, alert and doing the job and itβs not about his age.β
βThe other one,β Behar said, referring to presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, βis doddery, doesnβt remember anything and canβt put a sentence together, and has brain farts in the middle of a paragraph, and they go after Joe.β
Jill Biden argued that this election isnβt about age, despite the attempts of some conservative figures β including Trump himself β to portray Biden as in cognitive decline.
Biden will be 81 and Trump will be 78 when the November election takes place, she pointed out, saying: βTheyβre basically the same age.β
βThis election is about character,β she added.
βYou have two choices,β she continued. βYou have my husband, Joe, who you all know, who has integrity. Heβs strong, heβs steady, heβs a leader, heβs smart, heβs energetic.β
Then, in one word, the first lady summed up Trump.
Spoiler:
βOr you have chaos,β she said, drawing applause from the audience.
ORATE was a solid guess, and a lucky one. There is just one possible solution left, as far as I can tell. You should solve the puzzle on your next turn.

I was thisclose to typing in SCARY as 2/6, but at the last second decided on another WoF letter but didn't want to double letter the T.
Back when I only used three or four starter words, STARE was a mainstay. Glad I didn't use it as I'm sure I would've gone with START for 2/6.
I pretty much use a different starter every day always using two vowels and at least one WoF letter. I think that's roughly when I started getting hotter.

Probably shouldn't have gone with GROIN on 3/6, but it took it.
Spoiler:
I ran through the entire WoF when I already had the only WoF letter in 1/6 I ran through all the vowels except Y until only the double O was available at 5/6
