Tourons

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

The sea lion shot was from La Jolla Cove. Big touron problem there "oh look, let's pet the big fish"
Idiots.
And of course, some will always blame the animals, whether sea lions, bears, buffalo, whatever:

"... inadvertently went off the road..." Seriously? That geyser is near one of the main roads through the park - paved, fairly wide. There's a pull-out with a few parking spaces to provide easy access to look at it. The only way those idiots drive into that geyser is to intentionally get off the road or drive past the parking area. Unless, of course, they had to swerve for an animal or touron and lost control, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
I'll go with "idiots."

What could possibly go wrong?

Ballymanus Sea-Mine Disaster

Sochi is on the eastern Black Sea. This happened on the western Black Sea:

Video: Floating Naval Mine Explodes on a Beach in Georgia

"No injuries or material damage were reported."

It's POSSIBLE that the Sochi touron mine is marked "INERT" like this one:

Military sea mine washes up on Florida beach

Naval mine washes up on shore in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea

China, too:

Disturbing video shows a large group of Chinese selfie-takers swept up by a giant tidal bore
Another sobering warning not to put yourself in harm's way for the sake of social media likes

Opps.
Spoiler:

... It’s disturbing to watch, as it could have resulted in multiple deaths, but thankfully that doesn’t appear to be the case. A commenter on the video, which was posted to X a few days go, has translated the text, revealing that it says, “When the Qiantang River in Hangzhou, China was in high tide, two fathers protected their children and were finally rescued safely.” The same commenter later clarified that no one died in the incident....

Chinese tourons may be the biggest group of idiots I've ever encountered in my travels.

The last woman standing didn't even react, she stood there filming until she was swallowed up.

Canada vying for the crown, selfie again  :
Shark bites off tourist’s hands as she tries to take selfie on Caribbean beach

A shark bit the hands off a woman along the shore of a Caribbean beach while she was trying to take a picture with it.

The 55-year-old woman, who is understood to be Canadian, had only strayed a few yards into the water when she was attacked last Friday.

According to the local authorities she “attempted to engage” with the shark when the 6ft-long predatory fish struck off Thompson Cove Beach in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

It is understood she had one of her arms amputated below the wrist and the other half way up her forearm. She has since returned to Canada for further treatment....

Good thing she wasn't having sex with someone at the time. Close call.

Not violent enough, though the warthog might have been from a different angle. Try this:

Tourist’s dumb decision nearly costs him his life in crocodile enclosure

:o
... The brainless visitor, 29, thought that the (motionless) 15-foot reptile was a statue in the zoo in Zambonga Sibugay in the Philippines....

The tourist was reportedly trapped in the pen for 30 minutes before Lalay’s handler was able to free him by bashing the crocodile on the head with a piece of cement, causing her to loosen her grip.

... He received more than 50 stitches....
Coulda been so much worse.
