So I understand the general concept of top boss "taking responsibility" and I understand people wanting a scapegoat to tie to the rail tracks or throw under the bus, but past that, why should Cheatle have to resign for something she literally had zero to do with? Were her agents in general trained poorly? Did she assign unqualified people to Trump? Was there anything special about the planned rally? Maybe fire the guy who was supposed to have evaluated the rally site or who didn't respond properly to reports of a guy with a rangefinder or gun, but did that event represent normal security quality? Effin' politicians, holding "hearings" and doing "investigations" on stuff they have not a clue about.
From what I've read, it seems the whole thing was a failure by the local sheriff department.....two local officers tried to access the roof and when the shooter pininted his gun at one of them, he fell off the roof. What the fuck? Did these guys not have radios? Instead of shooting a potential assassin, they prefer to shoot unarmed Black citizens apparently. At least that asshole in IL is in jail with no bond. I saw some discussion of the SS having rejected TRE45QN campaign requests for additional protection. If true, that's something Cheatle was or should have been involved with. Some prominent Dems also called for her resign. This made me wonder if she should go
