Well, that's definitely different.

Hard to believe it hasn't happened before.

Entertaining story, but only in an awkward process of record-keeping can playing in two events two months apart be considered the "same game".
I know, the game was suspended and now they're playing the rest of it. But still.

When I saw the headline first, I wanted to see the guy change uniforms between innings.

Or just step back and put on his catcher's gear which covers most of the uniform.

 150 years. In all that time you would think that some team that had traded would have done it just to be the first.

Explanation. The game started June 26.

Danny Jansen to officially play for both Red Sox, Blue Jays in same game
Danny Jansen will make history when the Red Sox face the Blue Jays by playing for both teams

Awww, ya gotta feel a little bad. Especially for the pitcher and second baseman.

They only play 8 innings?
Were there 2 outs? The status box doesn't say :headscratch:
What is "P62"? It's not the pitcher or the batter's number.
2B is supposed to cover 1B?
It was a beautiful bunt

You don't bunt a guy over to third with two out (and end the inning), a bunt single doesn't normally score him. You swing for a base hit to score the run.

Yeah, when the first baseman is charging a bunt the second baseman covers first, it was a bunt situationand he should have been in position.

And P62 was the pitch count.

So hard to believe, the Cubs have underperformed and been the epitome of mediocrity all year, but here we are.

A month ago they had a 3% chance of making the playoffs but an 18-8 August can change that.

Ramos becomes 1st righty batter to homer into McCovey Cove

David Peralta hit a tiebreaking single in the 10th inning, and the San Diego Padres overcame Heliot Ramos becoming the first right-handed batter to homer into McCovey Cove with a 4-3 win over the San Francisco Giants on Sunday that completed a three-game sweep.

Ramos hit a 394-foot, opposite-field drive into the water behind the right-field stands in the ninth off Robert Suarez (9-3), tying the score 2-2. There have been 167 splash homers by left-handed batters since the ballpark opened in 2000, including 104 by Giants hitters.

"It looks impossible just by looking at the wall and the weather here," Ramos said, adding that the feat was "insane" to him....
Yep, 167:1 is  .

The writer never once names the ballpark. I wonder if like me s/he quietly shuns corporate names.

Shohei Ohtani first 50/50 player in major league history

Bisexual?

Seriously, :-|| x 100
Shohei stats yesterday:

6 for 6
3 home runs
2 doubles
1 single
10 RBIs
2 stolen bases

I’m not into baseball that much, but even I know that’s an amazing stat line. Some people are calling it the greatest game by a player in history of baseball. Can you remember a better performance?

It's superhuman  The single must have been a letdown ;) Would have been more stolen bases if not for those pesky home runs

And he pitches, too, though not this year.

The Dodgers Clinched Playoff Berth. The Angels, the team he left, have been Eliminated from Playoff Contention.

Speaking of stats, here’s a question for you:

Let’s say you already have a home run, triple and double in the game. It’s your last at-bat, and you hit a clean shot into the outfield.

You can most likely get a double out of it. But do you try? Or do you settle for the single you can get get the “cycle”?

Wouldn't that depend somewhat on the score, whether we're behind or ahead?

Let’s say your team is 1 run ahead and it’s the eighth inning.
