Things conservatives never heard of before Obama

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Things conservatives never heard of before Obama

Unread post by Ombudsman »

When I see the wing nuts bitch and moan about Obama, I can only come to the conclusion that they must think the following things were created and/or caused and/or used solely by Obama. Otherwise all their whining about such things makes little sense.

Executive Orders
TelePrompTers
Presidential Vacations
The Secret Service
Gun Laws
The Deficit
Birth Certificates
Unemployment
Drones
Amnesty

Wing nuts never bitched about Bush's Executive Orders, or his use of drones, or his teleprompter with words spelled phonetically for him, or the fact he took more vacation time than practically every president in history. They don't bitch about Reagan's support of gun restrictions or his tripling the deficit and raising taxes 11 times and offering amnesty to illegals. They've never asked to see any other president's birth certificate or complained about the cost of security for other presidents. Yet every damn wing nut forum is nothing but a bunch of bitching about these topics in regards to Obama, despite the fact that Obama is the smallest government spender since Eisenhower. It makes no sense, unless of course their hatred for him really has to do with something they aren't willing to admit.
Wing nuts. Not just for breakfast anymore.

American flag lapel pins.

One day during the 2008 election, Obama didn't wear one. It didn't matter that Republican candidates often didn't wear them; Faux News sounded the nutbar clarion call, and the right declared it proof that Obama was an America-hating commie Marxist socialist Muslim Kenyan.

Republican candidates quickly started wearing American flag lapel pins.

The Chinese flag.

One day the news broke across the Republican blogsphere that during a state visit, the Obama White house was going to fly the Communist Red Chinese Flag on the White House lawn FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER!!!!

In Faux News's defence, while WorldNetDaily and other right-wing news sources were mindlessly parroting the claim, Faux News printed the truth:

It was a private group flying the flag, not at the White House, but down the street. And Bush II had flown the "Communist Red Chinese Flag" at the White House during his administration.

Speaking of Bush II, how come he isn't on your list? Or Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Gonzales and others in his administration?

Bowing to others:

Republicans had a collective sanctimonious hissy fit when Obama bowed to Japan’s Emperor Akihito. It didn't matter when people pointed out photos of Republican Presidents bowing to foreign leaders.

Like Nixon bowing China's Chairman Mao Zedong in 1972. (Pat Buchanan, one of those who feigned pearl-clutching horror over Obama's bow to anyone who would put him on camera, is standing next to Nixon in the 1972 photo.) Or Nixon bowing to Akihito's father Hirohito, who was Emperor when the Japanese attacked on Pearl Harbor. (Bush I vomited on Akihito, which in Japan is probably considered by some to be a sexual act.)

15 years of Republican health care policy:

Including the "personal mandate", that went from How It Should Be Done to Commie Marxist Socialism the moment Obama adopted it.

Czars

Every President (except Kennedy) in the last 70 years has had similar "czars". Franklin Roosevelt had 19 of them. Bush II had 33. Suddenly they were wrong under Obama.

The Ready Reserve Corps:

This "Obama's Militia" has been around since 1798 and has been a uniformed service for over a century. (The United States has seven uniformed services, and the PHS is the least well-known of them.) It's headed by the Surgeon General, which is why he wears a uniform.

Canadian-made bus shells.

Republicans had a hissy fit over Obama using a Canadian bus. Prevost bus shells are Canadian made, then outfitted by Hemphill Coach of Tennessee.

Bush II used one in his last election campaign. In 2008 the same buses were used by John McCain, Fred Thompson, Rudy Guiliani and Sarah Palin. And by Republican candidates like Michele Bachmann in 2012.

The War Powers Act

Republicans in Congress declared Obama's military action in Libya to be unconstitutional, because it was done without Congress's authorization.

President Bush I did the same, ordered troops into Panama in 1989 to overthrow General Manuel Noriega. As with Obama, President Bush consulted with Congressional leaders but did not seek or receive Congress' authorization.

The legal issues were settled by the Office of Legal Counsel when the same thing was done with troops sent into Haiti and Bosnia in the 1990s.

The end of F-22 production:

Republicans had a hissy fit over Obama endangering the nation by ending F-22 production.

Of course it was the previous administration that capped production at 183 aircraft. The Obama administration simply stuck with the Bush II White House decision.

This is one of the wingnuts' favorite shticks. History started on January 20,
2009 and Obama did things that no other president apparently did. They're
that stupid. Here's a very minor one--playing golf as in Obama is playing
golf while the country is falling apart. Haven't heard anything about his March
Madness brackets yet. That was another golden oldie. The nutters are still
going crazy over the Obama kids' vacation too. Yep, first time a president's
children took a vacation.

Seems like they quickly forgot about birth certificates afterwards too. If that doesn't have sub-tones of racism, I don't know what does.
