How Reuters calculated the Trump Organization’s financial situation

Reuters sought to estimate the cashflow being generated by former President Donald J. Trump’s various businesses to try to understand how that business has changed over the past decade and the extent to which over $500 million in court judgments against him may put strains on that business.

Reuters used established methodologies and consulted with experts in the different industries in which The Trump Organization operates to establish its estimate of around $80 million in cash after operating expenses from Trump’s businesses in 2024....

The reasons for his overall desperation becomes more acute when you think about what his future holds if he loses. On top of his cashflow being drained from his businesses his fundraising ability to pay his legal and airplane bills (amongst others) goes dry.

Then he gets to spend a couple of years sitting in criminal courtrooms with no one to foot the lawyer bills. Bet he has some lawyers leave him for non payment.

He's gonna launch his 2028 campaign before the 2025 inauguration just to keep the cash spigots open.

As I read through your post I was thinking the same thing, though he might be fundraising to prevent the inauguration until it happens

Former Donald Trump advisor Steve Bannon must face trial in New York on criminal-fraud charges over a push to fund the former U.S. president's signature wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, a judge ruled on Friday.

Justice April Newbauer's decision to deny Bannon's motion to dismiss the charges paves the way for a trial set to start on Dec. 9, just six weeks after he is scheduled to be released from federal prison. Bannon is serving a four-month sentence for defying a congressional subpoena.

Bannon, 70, was charged by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office in September 2022 with money laundering and conspiracy for allegedly deceiving donors who contributed more than $15 million to the private fundraising drive, known as "We Build the Wall."

Truth Social Exec Dumps Stock as Price Plummets

The executives at former president Donald Trump's Truth Social venture are officially starting to cash out of its meme stock.

According to a recent filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) CFO and treasurer Juhan Phillip has already sold a whopping $1.9 million worth of company shares.

CEO Devin Nunes and COO Andrew Northwall joined in as well, selling chunks of their holdings.

Meanwhile, Trump is likely also getting ready to offload his 114 million TMTG shares — roughly 60 percent of the company's outstanding stock — as soon as next month. The six-month lockup period determined by the SEC is set to expire as soon as September 20, clearing the way for Trump to pull out.

As Quartz reports, Trump could make upwards of $2 billion, a hefty sum — but a fraction of what he could've gotten away with earlier this year, before the price inevitably crashed.

... "It’s purchasing his brand," vice president of research at Morningstar John Rekenthaler told Quartz. "But he’s not going to have a brand if he loses a second straight presidential election."

With a second loss, the stock could "go to zero," Rekenthaler predicted.

Trump Jr. was reading live chat messages on his political podcast Triggered when restaurant owner Allen Brenycz confronted him. Brenycz told Trump Jr. that he lost half his customers after purchasing a digital billboard supporting the former president.

“I have a digital billboard on the highway in Minnesota,” Brenycz wrote. “I need a repost from you for my pin post. I’ve lost half my business since publicly supporting.”

Brenycz appeared to be referring to a GoFundMe he launched to gather funds for the billboard.

“As many of you know after coming out and advertising for a political figure I am alienating a good percentage of customers,” he wrote on the GoFundMe, which had received $329 as of Tuesday evening.

What did he expect? Maybe he thought that most of his customers knew he was a Trumper and didn't care. And maybe they didn't as long as he didn't make it an issue. As soon as he started advertising for Trump, the act of entering his restaurant automatically became a political statement. Maybe he can get some sympathy (but no money) out of Pillow Guy, Giuliani or hundreds of others.

Caroline Rose Giuliani, in a heartrending essay, has reflected on the pain inflicted on her and her family since her father, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, went all in on Donald Trump and became the former president’s now-former personal lawyer.

The filmmaker used her Vanity Fair piece to publicly endorse Democratic nominee Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.

“As Rudy Giuliani’s daughter, I’m unfortunately well-suited to remind Americans of just how calamitous being associated with Trump can be,” Giuliani wrote in the article published Monday.

“Watching my dad’s life crumble since he joined forces with Trump has been extraordinarily painful, both on a personal level and because his demise feels linked to a dark force that threatens to once again consume America,” she continued.
