So they don't like kamala's position and they're mad at Joe, so somehow Trump is going to be better for them? If your reward for making a principled stand against someone is to get someone far worse, does not the nose and face and own-dick stepping come to mind?

You and Bernie! agree, and I can't argue with that perspective either. However, If I had learned that 6 of my cousins have died as a result of apartheid Israeli bombing I might have different feelings on your insistence that I choose between Hitler and Mussolini. Until PROVEN otherwise there's not much reason to imagine how TRE45QN would make Israel's genocide and ethnic cleansing worse than Joe has tolerated and Kamala has defended.

Israel has the right to defend itself but not wage genocide.

Palestinians have the right to live in peace and safety but not to terrorize.

At the moment, those two things cannot be reconciled until sanity prevails.

May be, but I don't see that having a personal priority issue is necessarily the same as single-issue. The priority issue voter would say "I'll vote for the person (or party) that seems most likely to work on things that are important to me." The single-issue voter says "If you don't support my issue I'm taking my ball and going home."

:headscratch: Going home is better than voting for the other team. It allows the people like me, you, Jasmine and supsalesmgr to decide who wins.

Plus, that Arab who lost 6 actual or metaphorical cousins doesn't see them as a "single-issue". Rather, they are a mandate crying out from the graves.

Humanitarians Say Israel Failed To Improve Gaza Aid. The U.S. Still Won't Listen.
Despite Israel not meeting U.S. demands to increase aid to Gaza within 30 days, the Biden administration will cross its own line and continue arming the military.

... “Israel not only failed to meet the U.S. criteria that would indicate support to the humanitarian response, but concurrently took action that dramatically worsened the situation on the ground, particularly in Northern Gaza,” eight aid organizations said in a report on Tuesday. “That situation is in an even more dire state today than a month ago.”

The damning report by Oxfam, Save the Children, MedGlobal, Anera, CARE, Mercy Corps, Refugees International and the Norwegian Refugee Council rates Israel’s progress in complying with the U.S. letter’s humanitarian demands.

Evaluating 19 measures of relief, the organizations’ scorecard found Israel to be noncompliant on 15, partially compliant on four and fully compliant on zero.
:( :angry-banghead:
... “We at this time have not made an assessment that the Israelis are in violation of U.S. law,” State Department spokesman Vedant Patel said, adding that the Biden administration believes the Israeli government has made good but limited progress.
... Aid groups have also reported on Israeli forces attacking journalists, medical workers and humanitarian aid workers, especially if they are Palestinian.

The Israeli military continues to block most aid from entering Gaza, resulting in the spread of famine and disease, a record number of child amputees, doctors operating on patients without anesthesia or medical tools, ongoing psychological trauma, and a breakdown of social order....
FU Biden.
U.N. Report Says Israel’s Actions Toward Palestinians Qualify As Genocide
The report details how Israel's policies and practices inflict collective punishment on the Palestinian people in an attempt to wipe them off the map.

... Israel has since displaced 1.9 million Palestinians in Gaza and killed more than 43,000, most of whom are believed to be women and children. Outside experts and medical workers estimate the true death toll is much higher, but that deaths have been undercounted because the Ministry of Health’s infrastructure has been destroyed; because bodies remain stuck under rubble, where rescuers can’t reach; and because some victims’ bodies were damaged so severely that they can’t be identified. The casualty count from the war likewise does not account for deaths from starvation, from diseases that the collapsed health care system in Gaza couldn’t treat or from what the committee called “an environmental catastrophe.”

The report mostly focuses on the Israeli military’s U.S.-assisted destruction of Gaza. Among Israel’s genocidal conduct, the report alleges, is its indiscriminate bombing, including in areas it has deemed “safe zones,” as well as its continued blocking of humanitarian aid, its alleged placement of civilians in torture camps, and its obliteration of water, sewage and health care infrastructure in Gaza.

All of this, the U.N. panel report argues, proves that Israel is inflicting collective punishment on the Palestinian people in an attempt to wipe them off the map.

The findings are consistent with those from other U.N. agencies, human rights groups, humanitarians and media investigations. On the same day the U.N. committee released its conclusions, Human Rights Watch published its own thorough report describing Israel’s actions as the mass “forced displacement” and “ethnic cleansing” of Palestinians — actions that amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity.

“Senior officials in the Israeli government and the war cabinet have repeatedly declared their intent to forcibly displace the population, declaring their policy goal throughout the conflict, from the early days of the war to over a year later, with government ministers stating that the territory of Gaza will decrease, that blowing up and flattening Gaza is beautiful, and that land will be handed to settlers,” the human rights group said.

Netanyahu Arrest Warrant: Full List of Countries That Will Comply With ICC

The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued multiple warrants on Thursday for those involved in the ongoing Israel-Gaza war. This included warrants for the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his former defense minister Yoav Gallant and a Hamas official.

The court has accused them of war crimes and crimes against humanity related to the war in Gaza, which followed Hamas' October 7, 2023, attack. Since then, Israel's military ground and air campaigns in Gaza have killed over 44,000 people, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

The ICC is recognized by 124 member nations, all of which in theory would arrest Netanyahu if he were to visit those countries. However, the ICC lacks its own enforcement mechanisms and the court depends on member nations to cooperate in executing arrest warrants, which they are obligated to enforce....

The court has found that both Netanyahu and his former defense minister "each bear criminal responsibility for the following crimes as co-perpetrators for committing the acts jointly with others: the war crime of starvation as a method of warfare; and the crimes against humanity of murder, persecution and other inhumane acts," as well as bearing criminal responsibility as "civilian superiors for the war crime of intentionally directing an attack against the civilian population."

Netanyahu has called the ICC's arrest warrant an "antisemitic decision" and said, "Israel utterly rejects the false and absurd charges of the ICC, a biased and discriminatory political body."...
:bs: That's always the whiny resort. It is not the Jewish people of Israel or the world who are carrying out genocide in Gaza. It is Nuttyahoo's extreme RW government and the people it controls who are doing so, and it is Nuttyahoo who is charged.

Map Shows Where Netanyahu Could Be Arrested After ICC Warrant

The article doesn't address how how countries would reconcile diplomatic immunity to arrest him.

I'm guessing that was addressed when the ICC was created, or has been since then. Plus, since the detaining nation would not be the prosecuting entity perhaps diplomatic immunity does not apply. I doubt that Nuttyahoo will test it unless he has advance assurances of non-arrest.

Gaza Strip in maps: How 15 months of war have drastically changed life in the territory

... Israel said it was trying to destroy the military and governing capabilities of the Islamist group, which is committed to the destruction of Israel and has been in control of Gaza since 2007, but more than 46,600 Palestinians have also been killed, according to the Hamas-run health ministry (women and children make up more than half)....

How the destruction spread ...

Image
Image
Image

... Fifteen months of conflict have probably damaged almost 60% of buildings across the Gaza Strip, with Gaza City suffering the heaviest destruction, according to experts from CUNY Graduate Center and Oregon State University who have been analysing satellite data.

Image

The UN estimates the damaged buildings include more than 90% of the housing units in Gaza, with 160,000 destroyed and a further 276,000 severely or partially damaged....

Vast tent city created

... Although nearly two-thirds of the population were in poverty, according to the World Bank, and thousands lived in UN-run refugee camps, it also had hospitals, schools and shops.

But Gaza - only 41km (25 miles) long and 10km wide and bounded by the Mediterranean Sea and closed borders with Israel and Egypt - is now in large parts uninhabitable.

Image

Entire districts have been razed to the ground. Agricultural land where greenhouses once stood have been reduced to sand and rubble by heavy vehicles and tanks used in clearing operations by Israeli troops.

Before the war, most of Gaza's 2.2 million people lived in its four main cities - Rafah and Khan Younis in the south, Deir al-Balah, in the centre, and Gaza City, which was home to 775,000 people - but almost the whole population have now been displaced.

Image

Families have been displaced multiple times as Israel changed the focus of its operation, initially telling people in the north to move south of Wadi Gaza river, which cuts the Strip roughly in half, and later declaring a series of evacuation zones in the south.

Satellite imagery shows a vast proliferation of tents erected by displaced people in al-Mawasi, a thin strip of mainly agricultural land along the Mediterranean coast, close to the Egyptian border, that Israel designated as a "humanitarian zone" in October 2023....

In August the UN estimated more than 1.2 million people were sheltering in al-Mawasi, which lacks critical infrastructure and basic services and has varied in size from about 7 km sq (2.7 sq miles) when it was first introduced to 72 km sq (27.8 sq miles).

Overcrowding has become a major concern in UN emergency shelters in central and southern Gaza, with some far exceeding their capacity. Other families are living in tents or makeshift shelters in compounds or on open areas of land and beaches.

The struggle for food

About 1.8 million people are experiencing high levels of acute food insecurity, including nearly 133,000 people facing catastrophic food insecurity, according to the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), the global body responsible for declaring famine.

Its analysis for September 2024 to August 2025 warned levels of acute malnutrition were 10 times higher than before the war started.

Even before the current conflict, about 80% of the population of Gaza was in need of humanitarian aid....

In March, the World Food Programme said that addressing simple food needs would require at least 300 lorries a day to enter Gaza and distribute food - a figure that has not been reached since the conflict started.

Image

... Poverty is soaring

The conflict has also had a devastating impact on Gaza's economy, which the World Bank said had contracted by 86% in the first quarter of 2024, the "largest economic contraction on record".

It notes that almost 100% of the population are now living in poverty compared with 64% before the war and the cost of basic supplies has risen by almost 250%.

Image
:o Higher than I pay by far.
The UN's trade and development arm UNCTAD says the cost of the damage caused by the war is an estimated $18.5bn - about seven times Gaza's entire gross domestic product (GDP) in 2022....

The UN's World Health Organization (WHO) says only 18 of Gaza's 36 hospitals are still partially functioning, with a further 11 field hospitals described as fully or partially functioning.

A long recovery ...

Semi-serious answer: Palestinians have been known to throw rocks at tanks. Israelis know they aren't going to give up, and Israel isn't willing to make the compromises necessary to have long-term accommodation. So their "only choice" is to wipe them out. They are some mean-ass people.

50,000 people, including 18,000 children killed by Israelis in Gaza over a year an a half of constant attack.
“We assess that Hamas has recruited almost as many new militants as it has lost. That is a recipe for an enduring insurgency and perpetual war,” Blinken said recently.

Surprise, surprise, and that somehow justifies US complicity in ethnic cleansing, as we've been saying from the beginning.
Trump suggests his plan for Gaza Strip is to ‘clean out the whole thing’

... “You’re talking about a million and a half people, and we just clean out that whole thing,” Trump said ...

As well as killing tens of thousands of people, the 15-month war between Israel and Hamas has reduced much of Gaza to rubble. Israeli airstrikes have damaged or destroyed around 60 per cent of buildings, including schools and hospitals, and around 92 per cent of homes, according to the UN.

Approximately 90% of Gazans have been displaced, and many residents have been forced to move repeatedly, some more than 10 times, according to the UN.
:crybaby:
Upon taking office this week, Trump rescinded Biden-era sanctions against Israeli settlers deemed responsible for deadly violence in the occupied West Bank, in a move welcomed by Israel’s Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, who has argued strenuously for Israel to re-establish Jewish settlements in Gaza abandoned under an Israeli order in 2005.
Illegal Jewish settlements. Racist and homophobic ultra right wing illegal Jewish settler Bezalel Smotrich. Funny that CNN missed that part. :problem:
Smotrich quickly endorsed Trump’s latest comments, saying “the idea of helping (Gazans) find other places to start new, better lives is a great idea.”
"helping" :roll: :puke-left:
... The comments echoed remarks made by his son-in-law Jared Kushner in February 2024 when Kushner called the waterfront property in Gaza “very valuable” and suggested Israel should move Palestinians out of Gaza and “clean it up.”

Looks like determined Israel will have started another war as DonOLD moves to occupy Gaza. Not sure how this will lead to the government reduction SoupySales deludes himself with.

Also:

Pregnant Palestinian woman shot dead by Israeli forces in refugee camp, sparking outrage
Sundus Shalabi was eight months pregnant when she was killed by Israeli forces amid a series of attacks on a refugee camp in the West Bank.

In a statement, the Israeli army said it had referred the shooting to the military police for criminal investigation.
An unbiased body with a stellar track record of credible "investigations".
Shalabi's father-in-law, Mohammed Shula, said soldiers saw her body bleeding on the ground and did nothing to help.

“Why did they shoot them? They were doing nothing wrong. They could have stopped them, asked a question, but no, they just shot,” he told The Associated Press.
SOP when victims have been dehumanized.
The last thing Shalabi reportedly shared on social media read, “To my unborn child, with you, I will become a mother for the first time. I can’t believe how quickly this pregnancy has passed and how you have grown quietly within my womb, waiting for my first joy.”
 Got a future "terrorist", right Nuttyahoo?
... The Israeli military has expanded operations in the West Bank since a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas took effect last month, as part of a crackdown on Palestinian militants.

Settler attacks have also soared since the ceasefire went into effect last month, exacerbated by US President Donald Trump's decision to lift sanctions placed by the Biden administration to deter such events.
Thanks, DonOLD.
At least 905 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces across the West Bank since the war broke out on Oct. 7, 2023, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
Compared to a handful of Israelis. Having leveled Gaza the next target for ethnic cleansing is the West Bank. :angry-cussing:
... The Israeli crackdown on the West Bank has also included raids of cultural institutions, including a Palestinian-owned bookstore in Jerusalem.

Its owners were detained as soldiers confiscated scores of books about the conflict and Palestinian culture.
Ah, the so-called island of "freedom" in the Middle East.

Now we know:
Trump calls for 'cleaning out' Gaza after receiving eye-watering sum from Israel lobby
The president revealed his 'Day After' plans for Gaza following the ceasefire after a report detailed the massive sum he received from the pro-Israel lobby.

... Former Human Rights Watch Director Kenneth Roth alerted on X that Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, a fellow real estate mogul, "has doubled his stake in an Israeli financial firm that stands to gain from turbocharging Israeli settlements in Palestine," which are war crimes," according to Article 49 of the 4th Geneva Convention, citing a report from Lever News.
The grift never ends with this family criminal enterprise. :obscene-birdiered:
