I'm very curious as to how this plays out. Will the senate assert their authority as a co-equal branch of government, or bend over and take whatever Trump dictates.

I have not seen anything in the past 8 years that makes me think that the vast majority of Senators won't gladly bend over for TRE45QN. It will take 4 RepuQ defectors on any confirmation in order to shoot it down. Maybe there will be a very few sacrificial MAGAts like Gaetz, KINO and Pete Hegseth, but I expect Dear Leader to get almost everything he wants.
