I hit the solution on my first try once. That was pretty amazing.
Never done that, but have had a couple of past starter words be solutions.
I started pulling away from Vrede when I went random. My only criteria is two vowels and at least one WoF letter while staying away from seldom used letters like V, Z or Q.
If I'm web surfing before playing I'll scan whatever I'm reading looking for a starter. I generally try for two vowels on my second try also and lean towards not using a double letter until my fourth try if possible.

Unlucky at love....
Unlucky at Wordle...
Spoiler:
3/6
FIELD was a solid guess here. It looks as if you’ve narrowed it down to only two remaining words: belly or jelly.
