Hypocrites.
Knowing the Democrats though, rather than using this to their advantage, they'll completely drop the ball on it. Keep indicating Musk is really running the show and the one that matters. Pretend Trump doesn't even exist. Keep making references to Musk. Narcissists hate this.
Trump Sure Seems Pissed at Elon Musk Over the Spending Bill
Donald Trump isn’t taking the “President Musk” rhetoric well at all.

Trump is rushing to remind the media that he is the captain of the GOP, not Elon Musk.
The “President Musk” rhetoric gained steam among Democrats after the billionaire helped kill the continuing resolution to keep the government open, voicing his opposition long before the president-elect did.
But Trump wants the world to know he’s still the one calling the shots.
“As soon as President Trump released his official stance on the CR, Republicans on Capitol Hill echoed his point of view. President Trump is the leader of the Republican Party. Full stop,” said Trump spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, as reported by Business Insider’s Bryan Metzger

Name a Speaker that won't be.
-0-?Who'd want to be speaker knowing the dysfunction that's coming?
I don't think the molester abettor would ever get all the RepuQ votes, and he's already vilified for being a MAGA cultist and a dimwit creep.
But it only takes a majority of House members to elect a Speaker. Considering the recent chaos and wingnuttery, I'd say Jordan is a real possible outcome if Johnson is kicked out. That's how fucking crazy these people are. They'd like nothing more than to institute more massive tax cuts coupled with massive cuts fo Social Security, Mdicare, Medicaid, food stamps, and anything else that helps poor folks. Their next trick will be to convince the gullible cult that a Constitutional amendment requiring a balanced federal budget is a good thing.......except when it would violate the Constitution to incur any expense during a national emergency or some other catastrophic event. They will never bring that aspect of such lunacy up, though. After all, they've somehow managed to convince, with an able assist from Fox News millions of nanowit Americans to vote against their own interests.Vrede too wrote: Fri Dec 20, 2024 10:44 amI don't think the molester abettor would ever get all the RepuQ votes, and he's already vilified for being a MAGA cultist and a dimwit creep.
My "all the RepuQ votes" is virtually the same thing. The GQP can only afford to lose 3 RepuQs on any vote, fewer until Gaetz and the TRE45QN appointees from the House are replaced.neoplacebo wrote: Fri Dec 20, 2024 2:13 pmBut it only takes a majority of House members to elect a Speaker....Vrede too wrote: Fri Dec 20, 2024 10:44 amI don't think the molester abettor would ever get all the RepuQ votes, and he's already vilified for being a MAGA cultist and a dimwit creep.
Perhaps I was vague in my post about Jordan. I wrote that in the sense that Jordan, with his brand of particularly stupid nonsense and wingnuttery, would not be "vilified" by most Republicans. Hell, a lot of them would be all for it I expect. Even though Jim didn't do very well in the hunt for McCarthy's replacement I think now he'd have a better chance. Because Johnson is evidently not crazy enough for them.Vrede too wrote: Fri Dec 20, 2024 2:32 pmMy "all the RepuQ votes" is virtually the same thing. I've been saying since the original 1/2023 McCarthy fiasco that the only rational solution is for patriotic rather than partisan Dems and Repubs to work something out. I'm not holding my breath.
I agree with the rest.
Perhaps I was vague. I agree about "most Republicans", but with such a narrow majority IMO Molestor Abettor Jordan will never be Speaker. He's vilified by enough Repubs (along with all Dems) to sink his chances.neoplacebo wrote: Sat Dec 21, 2024 10:49 amPerhaps I was vague in my post about Jordan. YupToo bad there aren't enough patriotic Republicans around anymore to follow your advice. Hell, the ones that were have been forced out and are now called criminals by the trump cult. With any luck, after two years of constant chaos and stupidity maybe the 26 mid terms will help fix it. But like you I won't hold my breath on it.
Me:  Would the story have been different if purple NC wasn't such a central beneficiary of this bill?Disaster aid
The bill included roughly $100 billion in disaster aid after leadership in both chambers faced increased pressure for relief in the aftermath of hurricanes Helene and Milton....
Remember that?City of DC
In a remarkable “hail Mary” worthy of the miracle throw by Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels to beat the Chicago Bears earlier this year,
Moron. GoDCGo! :clap:language to transfer administrative jurisdiction of RFK Stadium to the District of Columbia was passed by the Senate early Saturday morning after being removed from the continuing resolution.
The language would pave the way for the Washington Commanders to potentially move their stadium from Landover, Md., to the nation’s capital....
The language had originally been included in the initial bipartisan funding package unveiled early this week, but the deal was taken out after misinformation elevated by Elon Musk on social media that falsely said the bill included $3 billion for an NFL stadium in D.C....
