Hegseth Completely Flubs Response To Question From Sen. Tammy Duckworth

While questioning Hegseth on military issues, Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) asked him about the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN. But when Hegseth began talking about South Korea, Japan and Australia, Duckworth was forced to call him out.

"None of those three countries are in ASEAN," she told him. "I suggest you do a little homework before you prepare for these types of negotiations."

Such homework should include looking up the definition of "Southeast" and the fact that Australia isn't even Asian. TRE45QN wants our DoD to be run by an imbecile.

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) used all of her allotted time to lay into Hegseth for his past comments denigrating women and LGBTQ people serving in the military, and then specifically went after him for discounting the role that moms play in serving their country.

"What's wrong with a mom, by the way?" Gillibrand shouted at him. "Once you have babies, you're therefore no longer able to be lethal? I mean, you're basically saying women, after they have children, can't ever serve in the military in a combat role."

I don't know who, if anybody, is leading Dem strategy for Cabinet hearings, but they should be summarily sacked, IMNVHO. They've been emphasizing issues like Hedgehog's drunken escapades and alledged assault. Sure, normal people would think that stuff would be disqualifying in a hot minute, but these are not normal times. Those issues are now considered features, not bugs, by way too many people. But most of these nominees, whether sleaze bags or not, have a common and easily provable similarity - no relevant knowledge or experience for the job. A few questions along those lines went by, and they generally let Hedgehog wander and duck. From the start, they should have been hammering on that. How about "tell us one job you've ever had where you were responsible for more than a thousand people and a budget over 1 million."I think they'll just let them all pass. Doomed.
