LOL
Identifying it as Biden's would be the kiss of death.
No matter what the details are, like the very con immigration bill.

Abcarian: Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court confirmation looked bad at the time. It was even worse

President Trump and his party never cared a bit about whether Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted women.

Kavanaugh's 2018 confirmation to the Supreme Court was going to be rammed through no matter what, a new report shows.

Trump was not exactly the kind of executive for whom allegations of sexual assault would ever be a deal breaker. He has since been found liable for what a judge described as “rape” and had previously boasted about sexually assaulting women just because he could.

And thanks in part to Kavanaugh’s elevation to the high court, we now live in a country where reproductive rights have been ripped away from women and a president could arguably get away with murder....

The new report by Whitehouse, a member of the Judiciary Committee and the chairman of its federal courts subcommittee, confirms what many have long suspected: The supplemental background investigation was a “sham” that was tightly controlled by the Trump White House even as the then-president insisted the FBI had “free rein” to look into the allegations.

The White House, the report says, “exercised total control over the scope of the investigation, preventing the FBI from interviewing relevant witnesses and following up on tips.”...

The echo chamber has its talking point for the week, and of course the Cult complies:

CNN host explodes as Scott Jennings insists Trump should 'absolutely' defy judge orders
Liberal Abby Phillips lost it when GOP Scott Jennings explained his reasoning as to why Donald Trump should "absolutely" defy a judge's orders on CNN.

Scott Jennings
POTUS Musk
SINO Johnson the johnson
VP Just Deranged Vance
former New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu
Pirro and the rest of Faux Noise,
DonOLD, himself, and many more

Liz Cheney is having none of it:

Hero.

This will certainly end up in SCOTUS and there's a fair chance that the illegitimate, most corrupt Bench ever will side with POTUS Musk and DonOLD rather than the clear language and intent of the Constitution.

One to add to the list of lockstep sycophant morons above:
Alina Habba’s Take On Donald Trump’s ‘Authority’ Leaves Critics Stunned

... A user-generated community note on X, formerly Twitter, fact-checked Habba’s comments.

It read: “The executive branch is not the ultimate authority on federal issues and has not been for over two centuries. The judiciary, including lower federal courts, have power to rule on the legality of conduct the executive branch.”
:---P

Republicans against Trump

Alina Habba suggests the Trump administration can defy court orders: “There's a separation of powers for a reason. The executive branch is the ultimate authority on federal issues."

This is what a constitutional crisis looks like
At this point Idiocracy seems kind of optimistic
:laughing-rolling: :crybaby:
A middle schooler learning civics for the first time would know that’s the exact opposite of what separation of powers entails.

Speaking of the SCOTUS it appears Trump's appointees have pretty much been confirmed. Now Justice Thomas can announce his retirement so Trump can appoint a conservative in his forties. Just something else for you guys to think about. Thank you Harry.

You're ready to dump one of the most corrupt justices ever? It's about time. Historically, "conservative" has meant defending the Constitution and rule of law, not bending over for a dictator. So, don't gloat too soon.

Supreme Court Says Trump Administration Must Release Frozen USAID Funds
The court denied Trump's bid to delay releasing $2 billion in USAID funds.

:---P
... The administration’s freeze on foreign aid funding has already caused massive damage by denying crucial deliveries of medicine, vaccinations, food and money for everything from hospitals to shelter.

“This will no doubt result in preventable death, destabilization, and threats to national security on a massive scale,” Nicholas Enrich — the acting assistant administrator for global health at USAID, who has been placed on administrative leave— wrote in an internal memo reported on by The New York Times and provided to the court by the plaintiffs.

“As a result of the pause and programming delays, millions of individuals now face heightened risks of preventable diseases such as malaria, HIV/AIDS, TB, and multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB),” Enrich wrote in another leaked memo. “Furthermore, setbacks in maternal and child health and nutrition initiatives threaten overall health outcomes in affected regions.”

Millions of people around the world would contract preventable diseases and die thanks to the Trump administration’s aid freeze, Enrich estimated....

Just taking a page from the democrats encouraging liberal justices to retire while a democrat was president. Some were suggesting this to Sotomayor while Biden was POTUS.

:headscratch: It's not a "liberal" playbook. It's been a ploy for EVERY POTUS and faction since the creation of SCOTUS, duh. Interesting that y'all choose Thomas to go. He's 76, younger than DonOLD, 74 year old Alito is just as corrupt, and they're both RW extremists. I would think that occasionally moderate 70 year old Roberts would be top of the con list to go. Is it because Thomas is Black?

Why do you ask because he is Black? Simple, he is the eldest. After him, maybe Alito. I am ambivalent about Roberts.

Sorry if I was unclear. Barely the eldest. I ask because the age difference is so insignificant. Why not push for a twofer or three-fer?

First, I don't think replacing a justice is high on Trump's "to do" list. He has a couple of other items he is working on if by chance if it hasn't been noticed. If it works out I will take Trump appointing two justices this term. That would mean five Trump appointees.

I read a story this morning about some business owner who said he's thinking of intentional discrimination against trump supporters. One of his reasons for doing so stuck out to me.....he was concerned about hiring "gullible" people  and he wondered whether such a policy would be illegal or not. As far as I know, political affiliation is not a protected class. Hell, I remember the first several times I filled out job applications every one of them had this question: Are you or have you ever been a member of the Communist Party?

 Good point. Here's the article :D :
"I’ve Decided To Actively Discriminate Against Trump Supporters": People Are Debating This Boss's New Hiring Rule

... They wrote in to r/AskHR, saying, "Long story short, I’ve decided to actively discriminate against Trump supporters in the hiring process. I can’t catch them all, but people are being pretty cavalier about praising him on LinkedIn, so that’ll be my guide, I guess. The work my team does requires a level of critical thinking that makes gullibility an incredibly bad trait to have. Additionally, I just don’t want people on my team who hate a country that has given me everything."
:laughing-rolling:
They went on to explain: "I’m not talking about not hiring Republicans or even necessarily people who just voted for Trump because I know a lot of people vote based on complex reasoning. I’m only referring to people who actively post about or vocally support an obvious conman. I just need a higher caliber of person on my team."
... "Political stance is not yet protected, but be careful 'cause it seems to be heading that way. Keep good records on their fuckups, you can play the game they do. You aren't firing/not hiring them due to supporting Trump. You're firing/not hiring them because you believe/can show they can't perform the job duties to the standard you require."
:---P
... "Listen, the MAGA crowd would have no issue in discriminating against me in the hiring process, so fuck 'em. I’m sure someone else will chime in with a real answer, but as far as I’m concerned, you’re in the right, my friend."

And finally, "A small business owner I know went into the parking lot of his business after the election and fired everyone with a Biden or left-leaning bumper sticker on their car. I asked him if he thought he could get sued, and he said he ran it past several attorney friends. So I don’t think there’s a risk. Political affiliation is not a protected class."
