^this is the statement that got me bannedIMHO whoever is...they seem to think they have authority they don't, which appears to have resulted in moderator mangling the forums, and censorship that only is enacted by simply stating as to whom the mod may be...not questioning authority as cited by "mod", just remarking on obvious disposition of the new forum 'nazi', and the extreme indiscretions being enacted on BRN by a power drunk individual that has made it obvious that they are too self-serving to moderate a news forum

Greetings to the forum, and to the citizens of Hendersonville. I am Anne Bonny, and I am here because something of concern has come to my attention.

This publication has recently appointed someone as moderator to this forum who allegedly has questionable credentials, being that there are accusations that he is a known bigot and hatemonger, publicly posting poorly spelled racial slurs and general offensive ignorance--all without a care to proper grammar or basic communication skills. This is not just of concern to me, but to countless citizens who would like to think that our local media publications try to remain neutral, and observe good journalistic practices.

I am now operating on the assumption that the editors of the publication are unaware of what sort of larvae they have employed, so it is up to us, the citizens and forum users, to assist them with this knowledge. To that end, I supply their contact information. Those of you with knowledge of this issue, and are armed with the appropriate screenshots, know what to do.

A few days ago, I wrote Big Ugly, among others, to find out if both sides were getting WARNED. This conversation is proof positive that he's incapable of civil discourse and comprehension. His remarks are in blue. The whole idea was to find out if only lefties are being targeted.

How many times has the petty tyrant smacked your hand with a ruler? This is getting to be freakin' ridiculous. My most recent warning was for "questioning authority."

No k9, you are ridiculous.

OK, be that way. My question was completely sincere.
There are several of us, from both sides of the political spectrum, who are fed up with the warnings about, for example, using the word "bitch," while smears and stupidities sail through.... for some.

Don't believe I have used the words you have provided as examples. If I have, I apologize.

Mud slinging goes both ways. The current campaign, both sides, is a prime example of such. This forum is proof positive of what we see on the national scene and it is dividing our country.

<sigh> All I want to know is if you've been chastised by the moderator. It's an unscientific polling of others who've been as naughty as me, if not naughtier.

In other words, truce. The heavy handed "moderation" is annoying many. I gave you an example: I got spanked for echoing Leo, who said "Getting old is a bitch." When I agreed, using the same sentence, I was warned not to use profanity.

Clearer now?

k9, I was put in forum time out for a month back in June and I have yet to figure out why. So, the heavy hand of the moderator works both ways.

I suspected the one (s) who fingered me was of the left because I defended the right. Sounds like the way we do business in the US but for some reason the scathing attacks towards me were ignored.

That's the thing- nobody has to report you. None of my offending posts were reported. Don't think for a minute that the lefties aren't getting timed out, and I believe I said from the get-go that this nonsense is happening to posters from both sides.

If you'll notice, this new BRNModerator is online a LOT. I personally think it's not a paid position. As for your time-out in June, this moderator didn't join until August 22!

The tone of my post have changed somewhat since my forum rehab. Cannot defend the right in read only mode.

Aug. 22 was around the time the server 'alledgedly' failed...the threads started disappearing, and members were signed in as SSM wasn't it??? Also everyone be aware the mod is accessing members pm folders...and did you see... they even banned Mother Theresa

Questions that remain unanswered...why is the mod so interested in policing posts that aren't reported? I was told by the previous mod, that only reported posts were reviewed...and why is he so against remarks regarding Bow, and his assumed authority?
