... “I suspect I won’t be running again, unless you do something,” Trump reportedly told his GOP House colleagues as they met ahead of congressional leadership elections shortly after his election win. “Unless you say, ‘He’s so good, we have to just figure it out.’”...

Kamala Harris - Not top of my list, but she is a competent candidate and might do better with an entire season to run.
Donald Trump Jr
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
The New York congresswoman has had an impressive political career, winning a seat in the House when she was just 29.
Her name has been floated as a potential contender due to her ability to “cut through the BS and tell it like it is,” a Democratic strategist told The Hill.
“She’s somebody who can cut through the noise and doesn’t talk like Washington,” the strategist added.
A former member of Trump’s administration has even warned fellow Republicans not to “underestimate” her.
Monica Crowley, a former public affairs official in the Treasury Department during the first Trump administration, said AOC had “real grassroots support” through her early adoption of social media.
With eight million followers on Instagram, one million on TikTok and almost 13 million on X, she has a large national following for a backbencher.
The 35-year-old was also the fourth biggest fundraiser among Democratic House candidates in 2023-2024, Politico noted on its profile of the congresswoman, citing data compiled by OpenSecrets.
But there are some in the party who are concerned about AOC and the progressive ‘squad.’
“She and the ‘squad’ started pushing too hard, too fast,” another strategist told The Hill. “D.C. doesn’t work that way. And our party doesn’t work that way. We need to get back to the basics.”
TRE45QN proves that style and energy matter more than left-right differences.
Ocasio-Cortez, however, pushed back against the criticism that Democrats need to move away from “woke politics.”
“A lot of folks w/ poor campaign fundamentals are now blaming ‘wokism’ but haven’t held a town hall or knocked a door all cycle,” she said on BlueSky.
GoAOCGo!
Lots of Dems and RepuQs missing from this list. We'll see.
Rahm was kind of reviled as being a thug for Obama, but I have the impression he did a decent job as mayor. Is that your sense of it? Oh wait, don't the teachers hate him?

He's polarizing.
Eamus Catuli~AC 000000000101010202020303010304 020405....Ahhhh, forget it, it's gonna be a while.
From the view of a conservative I think he would be a strong candidate in a general election. The question is would the far left base of the democrat party back him as he would be considered too moderate.
Kamala - "36 percent of Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters"
13 percent - “don’t know/ no opinion”
10 percent - Pete Buttigieg
5 percent - Tim Walz, AOC, Gov. Gavin Newsom
4 percent - Billionaire Mark Cuban and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro
... Harris is mulling running for governor of California and has reportedly set herself a deadline of deciding by the end of the summer, to the dismay of some of her potential rivals.
Former Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said “the time is now” for Harris to declare whether she is running or not....
I wonder why someone would think the Democratic party's base is far left. All I can think of is that's it's just more Fox News bullshit. Throw on incessant lies from trump about "far left Democrats" for years and gullible fools start to believe it. I'd say less than five percent of Democrats are "far left" and probably not even that much. It's truly amazing how allegedly rational people can believe bullshit and lies.

Don't forget they're all Marxists, Socialists and Communists.
You don't say it right without those.

Dems do need a massive asshole who gives as well as the current crop of RWNJ's.
He's male, white and perfectly willing to go toe to toe and roll in the mud.
When I first saw your comment I thought you were referring to me.
If nominated, Neo will not run; if elected, Neo will not serve.
But I could giver a rousing king hell convention which would be guaranteed to launch every person in attendance into fits of high euphoria just this side of mayhem. Those possessing substantial fish (in case anyone in the near vicinity be some sort of infiltrator worthy of a slap) would joyously heave their fish into the air in glee.

And let's give "far left wing lunatics" as well as "they (Democrats) hate our country" and "destroying our country" an honorable mention. I would have listed "they're eating the dogs" but I think he only uses that on Haitians in OH.
Polling pundit Nate Silver predicts Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) will be the 2028 Democratic presidential nominee.
“She was going to be my first pick, and I can’t conceal that now, right?” Silver told former FiveThirtyEight podcast host Galen Druke in a video posted on Silver’s Substack newsletter “Silver Bulletin” on Wednesday....
“In a Yale poll just out this week, AOC has the highest net favorability rating of any of the Democrats that they asked about,” Druke said.
The same poll Druke referenced also shows Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and former Vice President Kamala Harris as highly favored among Democrats....
Both Silver and Druke cast their second choice for Democratic presidential nominee as Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-Pa.).
So,
An old Jew

An old Black/Asian woman
Another Jew
Could be worse.
I've wondered whether AOC would gamble on a POTUS run if NY Senator was a certainty.
If AOC or Kamala it would be the 3rd time the Dems ran a woman in 4 elections. 3rd time's a charm?
Should the Dems go DEI or is Irish Catholic Gavin Newsom the safer bet?
Why do Dems have to load up their candidates with baggage before the race even begins? I love Obama, but if he hadn't been blackish he wouldn't have generated nearly the hate during his time in office and we probably wouldn't have had Trump. Kamala, a perfectly good candidate who happens to be a blackish female, got beat by a known sex offending, felonious, sociopath. Hillary's Hate Club, along with some personal and campaign errors, got beat by a fake-reality show host with a personal grudge. Who managed to win? The old generic white guy. Newsom's baggage is largely imaginary, other than yes, being a California liberal Democrat. A couple of years ago, I thought that would be hard to overcome, but now that all opposition-bashing is exaggerated hyperbole totally made up from the tiniest grievance, the "Cal Liberal" tag probably doesn't matter. And he's a dynamic personality who would be selected by most any director to play a President in the movies and is much easier to like than dislike unless you've got a personal beef.
Yeah me too. I liked Hillary a lot and had since 93 or so. I liked Kamala and voted for her but I had doubts if she could win against a better repug. Had no idea she'd lose to a felon sociopath. But the general election win is the only thing that counts.
IMHO Emanuel would be the most difficult for the GOP to defeat. However, he has no chance in the democrat primary as he is too moderate for the the lefty loons who control the party now.
