I am going to completely blow your mind. Check this out. It's a website you can go to search for information. You type in the question, then press the button that says "search". It'll return pages upon pages of results which can be used to help find answers to questions you may have. It's the wildest thing.
That's amazing. How did you learn about this? It sure would have saved me some time and effort over the last 25 years.
As you link, GoCubsGo largely answers SoupySales' question at the top of the last page. He probably never looked at that, nor at O Really's shorter answers to the question over the last few pages. Perhaps he just can't understand their posts - probably poor "parental involvement". GoCubsGo didn't post the headline for his excerpt. If SoupySales hadn't been too lazy or frightened to look at the link he would have seen that it is, you guessed it:
Moving responsibility more to the states is an opportunity to begin improvement. Parental involvement is also a big piece of improvement.
Responsibility for what that they don't have now? Raising the 15% of so of their budget that is now federal? And most would agree that it depends on the parent as to whether more involvement would be an improvement.
I am still awaiting a response to my question of "What does the DOE do?".

Right now the narrative has been captured by the bigoted xtian extremist parents, but they are a fringe. Parental involvement has never been discouraged and parents are aching to participate. However, that's made difficult by an economy and culture that forces most parents to work long hours, all so the fat cats can concentrate ever more wealth.
Then, red states have no intention to begin improvement of our "socialist" public schools. Rather, they want to divert more of our money to xtian madrassas and predatory corporate "educators". Privatization without restraint is their dogmatic goal.
One might also ask, if Supes doesn't know what the Doe does, why does he assume it's bad and want to eliminate it. Shouldn't one know something about an entity before making keep/kill decisions?

That's a common theme with all the DOGE cuts, tariffs and the current PINO administration overall.

If ignorance is bliss, why are they so angry?
Because they're not getting universal blow jobs?

So that's what the Federal Department of Education does for y'all leftists, suck dick. Nothing new, conservatives have known about y'all's relationship for awhile. There's gonna be some pissed off leftists when they're no longer getting their data collected.
All the posts on this subject have proven the DOE really adds no value to the educational process. Going forward I will leave the hand wringing to you guys.
I'm just glad that a former WWE wrestling huckster is the head of the Department of Education. It fits the pattern of the trump circus. I'm surprised Rudy and General Flynn aren't part of this new show.

Children who attend Head Start have better academic outcomes including a greater likelihood of graduating high school than similarly situated kids who don't Head Start is a federal program funded by DOE. But maybe that's part of your (collective) objection. It primarily assists poor kids to get a better education. For some reason, your fellow conservatives hate anything that helps poor people.

You and GoCubsGo tried for days to educate SoupySales on what DoE does and all he did was show that he wasn't even bothering to look at your info and references. After all that this whiny, childish, voluntarily ignorant post is the best he can come up with. Hopeless? It would seem so. Perhaps if he was better educated . . .
Could almost any program, public or private, find ways to run better, be more productive, evolve with the times, yada? Sure, even if a program is "perfect" today, it'll need work by next week. Do programs, public or private, become obsolete because of changing conditions, technology, or common practices? Sure, and some really can't/won't be salvaged. Want to tinker with Head Start? Modify the loan programs? Amend title IX? Change leadership priorities? Goferit. But to broadly eliminate a Cabinet-level department named "Education" certainly shows a major disdain by what used to be "our" government of one of the most important cultural components of any society. And anybody who advocates for blind elimination of any program just because they don't bother to know what it does is truly a fool, not to be suffered gladly.

When the xtian right, Faux Noise, Heritage and MAGA have been telling them for years that DoEd is evil that absolves them from critical thinking or intelligently participating in discussion and debate. Making more dumb cons is the goal.

Education is not being eliminated, just the liberal shit that leftists implemented.

When a kid is confused about which restroom to use. That's some critical thinking. Fucked up leftists.
Actually I am quite surprised that Flynn isn't in the new trump "national security" hierarchy. He's a real nutjob and would fit in nicely. But I guess it'd never work.....a three star general being under the thumb of a former reserve captain. He would not be able to handle it. Those trump cultists are severely emotional. Like when you catch them in a lie, they get upset and lie even more. It's weird.
