This story is funny enough, but some of the comments by readers is by far the best part of the story:

Like him or hate him, you have the best orator of any president or presidential candidate in decades. He showed it time and time again during the 2008 campaign, with no teleprompter.

But then Irish premier Brian Cowen had a teleprompter gaffe. Obama then ad-libbed a good-natured and well-received joke - rather than using a teleprompter.

Rush Limbaugh of course reported it as Obama having a teleprompter gaffe.

No credible reporter or blogger would repeat the smear or take anything Rush has said in the last 20 years as truth - it's a sure sign that Rush's arm is stuck up his backside using him as a sock puppet. In other words it was spread far and wide by the Fox News and other pundits on the right.

A teleprompter is just one more thing that was peachy-keen when the Republicans were in power, that suddenly became horribly wrong on January 20th, 2009.

Nothing says "I'm an idiot" like someone making fun of Obama's use of a teleprompter. Practically every public speaker uses one. This has been the case for several decades. Prior to that, they read from notes, as do the ones now who can't afford a teleprompter.
