So we get teased with articles that headline Trump's "dropping approval" etc., but then the polls in the article still has mid- to high-40's approval. How the eff is it even possible that 40-something percent of the US approves of the total mess he's made of the economy, trade, national alliances, scientific institutions, and even "government efficiency" since it can't be very efficient with skeleton staff. All groups of people have been and are being harmed by the way he's running the show. Well, maybe except single-issue racists since that's the only thing he's been consistent with. They may not like "woke" or DEI programs, but do they really want their healthcare cut? They may agree that since they have no clue as to what it means that "trade deficit" is automatically a bad thing, but are they really willing to pay significantly more for practically everything without ever getting any personal benefit from it? Maybe they "approved" of arbitrarily slapping high tariffs; do they still like it when those tariffs are equally arbitrarily rescinded? I could go on, but what's the point?
