So if you were going to intentionally throw the game, what would you do different from that?

We're the "Journalism" of baseball. Gonna take inspiration from the Preakness in Baltimore today to make our move in July and come from way back to steal the East! Watch.

9-12, may not make a run like last year. :(
Saw that, decided to be nice and not tweak your tail.

Thx for doing it for me. :)

Interesting situation. Good rule, good call. The umpire explained it, but the comments are illuminating, too.

:crazy: , but I'd like to hear the rationale for the rule, if there is one.

There's always something new:
Judge and Ohtani light up the first inning with historic homers in Yankees-Dodgers rematch

... It’s the first time reigning MVPs homered in the first inning of a game in major league history. Barry Bonds of San Francisco and Miguel Tejada of Oakland were the first reigning MVPs to homer in the same game, including the World Series, on June 30, 2002....
:-|| :-|| Next up:
It’s the first time reigning MVPs homered on the first pitch in the first inning of a game in major league history.
Only Ohtani did it this time. Judge's was a 1-1 pitch.
The long balls extended Ohtani’s major league-lead to 22. He tied the Dodgers record for most in a month with 15.

“We always seem to obviously play really well when Shohei’s obviously playing well,” first baseman Freddie Freeman said. “I heard the chants for MVP, and he’s really well on his way to doing that again.”

Ohtani has 60 runs this season, making him the first player since 1901 to reach the mark before June, according to OptaSTATS.

The Japanese superstar has hit five homers in his last five games, with four coming on the first or second pitch....
:-||

Yankees lead the AL East by 6.5 games.
Dodgers lead the NL West by 2 games over San Diego.
Detroit's on fire, leading MLB. :clap:
Cubs lead the NL Central by 3 games. :thumbup:
Baltimore is still lurking, ready to pounce any time now. ;)

The rationale is the same as it is for the "infield fly rule". It is to prevent the fielder to purposely juggle a ball to force a runner to try to advance. It is a rare call.

Early April.

Cubs actually won 2-1.

That was the Friars only run.
