Elon Muskiedoodle

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Yeah, Musk needs to refer to Taylor Swift, ""It's me, hi, I'm the problem, it's me. At teatime, everybody agrees. I'll stare directly at the sun but never in the mirror."

Maybe he was the "idea guy" the one with "vision" the one who would ask "why not?" But it certainly wasn't his management skills that made the company successful, and it's certainly not his being away from the company that caused it's sharp fall from grace. It's him - he's the problem it's him." And I'd agree the further he can be disassociated with Tesla the better off the company will be. But sure, they can't let him just fade off into the night. It's got to be torches, pitchforks, and a massive marketing campaign.

Musk needs to get far away from government, preferably in South Africa or somewhere, and keep his mouth shut. Anything else and Tesla is done.

Your hero plays for another team, all of a sudden your hero is not your hero anymore. It literally burns leftists to see a Tesla dealership.

Did he say DOGEfather?
:D He did and he is. Multiple DOGEchildren, just like with peoplechildren. He could have named 'X' 'DogeX', instead.

Ah, it's a habit. :puke-left:

'A disgusting abomination': Elon Musk doubles down on his criticism of Trump's 'big, beautiful bill'

If anyone knows disgusting abominations . . .
... "Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong," he said in one of more than 10 posts or reposts on the subject Tuesday afternoon — adding at another point "next year, we fire all politicians who betrayed the American people."
... The posts are likely to be closely watched by lawmakers given Musk's outsized profile as well as his recent willingness to spend lavishly on candidates that he supports.

Musk was the 2024 campaign's largest donor, spending $288 million, though he recently suggested he might pull back on political giving.

The commentary also puts Musk and Trump on polar opposites of the debate in Washington, with the president set to push hard for the bill's passage in coming weeks, including his own post Tuesday morning about fiscal conservatives who have criticized the bill's multi-trillion dollar price tag.
Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

Rand votes NO on everything, but never has any practical or constructive ideas. His ideas are actually crazy (losers!). The people of Kentucky can’t stand him. This is a BIG GROWTH BILL!
... Musk appeared at the White House last week to mark the end of his time in Washington and declined to repeat his critiques there of Trump's tax agenda.

He stood silently as Trump said the bill would "cut deficits" — a claim that nearly every outside observer and Musk himself has said is false....
Liar in Chief.

So clearly it's to Musky's advantage to have as much influence over those who regulate (or don't) his various business interests including awarding of contracts, reducing his personal obstacles, etc. But I don't understand why he cares one way or the other about government spending as long as they're spending it on him and his stuff. How is he affected by expenditures for Medicaid, foreign aid, social security staffing, yada?

... House Speaker Mike Johnson also reacted to the posts and lamented Musk’s position Tuesday afternoon to a CNN reporter, saying he talked with the billionaire Monday.

“My friend Elon is terribly wrong,” the speaker said, suggesting that Musk’s opposition might have something to do with provisions in the bill that phase out credits for electric vehicles.

"I know that has an effect on his business," Johnson noted....

Well, following Musk's approach to DOGE, he could equally well reduce the price of Teslas by eliminating the seats, the windshield, and in some models the wheels.
