Texan Goes Viral For Calling Out Legislators Over Anti-Trans Bill

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xed5MI6rcwQ

:happy-cheerleaderkid: :-||
... (Nick) Mollberg was speaking in opposition to Texas House Bill 229, which gives general definitions for only two sexes, male and female, excluding intersex and trans people. The bill states that “only females” can get pregnant, as well as “males are, on average, bigger, stronger, and faster than females.”

...A clip of Mollberg has gained attention on social media, racking up more than 1 million views on TikTok and more than 2 million on Instagram. Mollberg did not respond to HuffPost’s request for comment.

Several transgender people also testified against the bill, including Autumn Lauener, vice president of The Texas Transgender Nondiscrimination Scholars, a group that promotes inclusiveness toward different gender identities and expressions in public policy. She said House Bill 229 “accomplishes nothing.”

“It does not protect children,” Lauener said. “It does not support families. It serves only to erase, to attempt to write transgender and intersex people out of the story of Texas. But our existence is resistance, and we will never stop resisting. Our community will not be erased. Nothing this legislator does can end who we are. We have always been here, and we are not going anywhere.”

The Nazis Made A Horrifying Move In 1933. I'm Terrified Trump Is Now Doing The Exact Same Thing.
“Until recently, the question remained theoretical. But it’s not an exaggeration to say that President Trump is running plays straight out of Hitler’s playbook.”

... Children like my son — a “Stranger Things” superfan who spends hours perfecting illustrations of characters he’s created and texts with his friends late into the night — are, somehow, public enemy No. 1 for the current administration. This was another turn of events I would never have expected until this fall, when it became impossible to ignore the central place that E. and other trans kids occupied in the rhetoric of the Republican Party.

GOP operatives spent an astounding $222 million on anti-trans and anti-LGBTQ+ advertising in the 2024 cycle — more than on housing, immigration and the economy combined. Since Inauguration Day, the drumbeat of discriminatory actions and executive orders against trans Americans has made my heart race and kicked my anxiety into overdrive. The White House has refused to issue passports reflecting applicants’ gender identities, attacked providers of gender-affirming care, banned trans service members from the military, prevented schools from supporting students who transition, eliminated protections against spying on LGBTQ+ citizens, regulated bathroom use, benched trans kids from sports, transferred trans women into men’s prisons and targeted LGBTQ+ civil servants. It has also deleted references to trans and nonbinary people on government websites from the State Department and CDC to the Park Service’s page for the Stonewall National Monument....
Well before Hitler implemented the “Final Solution” to wipe Jews themselves from the face of Europe, his government erased them from public life and from history. But a parallel effort has often been overlooked and was only recognized by the German Parliament for the first time on Holocaust Remembrance Day in 2023: Hitler’s crackdown on the LGB — and T — community.

One of Hitler’s first acts after ascending to power was the destruction of Magnus Hirschfeld’s Institute of Sexual Science, a global pioneer in LGBTQ+ research, therapy, gender-affirming care, advocacy and community. Hirschfeld was both Jewish and queer — “undesirable” identities linked inextricably in Nazi ideology.

On May 6, 1933, Storm Troopers looted the Berlin center and torched its library, the first of the infamous book burnings intended to incinerate all traces of any “un-German” culture. Deleting mentions of LGBTQ+ people from U.S. government websites may not be as fiery, but it is the digital equivalent of this fascist censorship. According to scholar Heike Bauer, the calculated spectacle at the institute followed “months of observation and threats … inaugurat[ing] a new phase in the intensification of Nazi terror.” With the benefit of hindsight, we know where that terror led.
Library.
We can’t go back there.

In front of the crowd, sporting a trans flag like a suit of armor, my son E. began, “It has always been — and is especially right now — incredibly difficult to be a trans minor. Even at my middle school, which supposedly accepts everyone, I’ve faced hate from many of my classmates.”
:-||
... During this Trans Month of Visibility — but at all other times too — it’s critical to remember that President Trump can no more erase transgender Americans from the future than he can from the past. But that’s only true if allies echo and amplify the loud voices of the trans community. Their words — E.’s words — could be heard far beyond the fences of Stonewall National Monument that afternoon. As his parent and greatest champion, it’s my job to make sure you hear them, too....
Parenting a trans kid right now means walking through the world with the weight of his health and safety on my shoulders — a much more arduous load than I carry for my cisgender daughter, than I carried for E. mere months ago. The intensity of this burden — the visceral fear that bares its fangs throughout my days — has awoken in me the intergenerational trauma that is my legacy as the granddaughter of a woman who fled Nazi Germany as a teenager. Although she died before I started kindergarten, my grandma has remained an animating force throughout my life. I grew up asking myself, “Would I have been as brave as her?”
 Would any of us?
Until recently, the question remained theoretical. But it’s not an exaggeration to say that President Trump is running plays straight out of Hitler’s playbook. And it’s not just the hypervigilance I inherited that makes me take note. Trans kids like E. are canaries in the coal mine. If we don’t stand up for them and stop Trump in his tracks, history makes patently clear where this path leads. You may not bear the brunt of this persecution yourself. Your children might be fine. But, as M. Gessen argues with ferocious eloquence, “The reason you should care about this is not that it could happen to you but that it is already happening to others.”

That should be enough.

‘Sesame Street’ Pride Post Triggers Conservatives Into Meltdown Mode
The newest right-wing freak-out is brought to you by a post about love and respect.

... While the post was praised by many for its inclusive messaging, right-wingers thoroughly flipped out and baselessly accused the show of “grooming” children.

One commenter fumed: “This is why my grandson won’t be watching you. I grew up with Sesame Street in the 70’s, before it was woke. So sad that you had to ruin a good thing.”

Another ranted: “Nothing to see here: just a publicly funded puppet show promoting weird sex stuff to your three-year-old.” ...

Pizzagate Michael Flynn Jr, idiot then idiot now. Must be poor parenting.
But his trolling efforts failed because of his choice of meme ― a doctored clip from the beloved sitcom “Parks and Recreation” showing character Ron Swanson tossing a Pride flag into a dumpster.
Of course it's doctored. MAGATts LAW (LIE and Whine) all the time.
... In the original scene from the Season 4 episode “The Trial Of Leslie Knope,” Swanson throws a computer into the dumpster.

Flynn Jr.’s version covered up the computer with a Pride flag ...

Indiana Lt. Gov. Is Terrified Of Pride Month: 'The Rainbow Beast Is Coming For Your Kids!'
Indiana Lt. Gov. Micah Beckwith said Pride Month isn't about "tolerance" but instead "a state-corporate-pagan alliance to reprogram society."

NSAbook:

Micah Beckwith For Indiana
4d ·
PRIDE MONTH ALERT: The Rainbow Beast Is Coming For Your Kids!
WARNING: Corporate America and government institutions are launching their annual siege on childhood innocence—and this year’s Pride Month agenda is more aggressive than ever.
KEY EXPOSURES:
✅ Child Targeting: Libraries hosting drag shows for toddlers, schools replacing math with 57+ gender ideologies, and corporations selling Pride-themed cereal/toys to normalize the unthinkable.
✅ Institutional Surrender: Churches flying rainbow flags over communion tables, HR departments enforcing pronoun cults, and Disney/Nickelodeon pushing "Gomorrahn storytelling."
✅ Pagan Conquest: "It’s ritual child sacrifice—with glitter and hashtags. ‘Give us the children!’" 1.
WHY IT MATTERS:
Schools now prioritize DEI indoctrination over reading, writing, or science.
Libraries have become drag indoctrination centers—try hosting a "Heterosexual Heritage Hour" and watch the mob arrive.
Corporate Ads parade "two bearded men in lipstick adopting kids" as Hallmark-style propaganda.
THE BIG PICTURE:
This isn’t about "tolerance." It’s a state-corporate-pagan alliance to reprogram society. They’ve swapped biology for "identity constructs," swapped scripture for Harvey Milk sermons, and swapped parental rights for government-sanctioned grooming.
PARENTS: WAKE UP.
Are you raising your child—or offering them to the rainbow beast?
Image

Pride Month Starts Next Week and The Rainbow Beast Demands Your Children
:o  Obsessed.

The article:
... Pride Month, which goes from June 1 to June 30, celebrates the LGBTQ+ community and the progress they’ve made in gaining more rights and combating discrimination.

But for the conspiratorial Beckwith, Pride Month is a way to “reprogram society” into being more compassionate, which is apparently bad....

Beckwith ended his post with a link to a self-described “Christian Independent Press” website that references the “rainbow beast” in a post with an anonymous byline.

On his biography page, Beckwith said he is a pastor who “stepped up” after seeing the “woke agenda threatening our schools.”

Beckwith also came under fire last month for comments he made about the Three-Fifths Compromise, calling the 18th century law that counted an enslaved person as 60% of a free person “a great move.”

“I would like to share with you, the Three-Fifths Compromise is not a pro-discrimination compromise,” he said in a video about the pro-discrimination compromise. “It was not a pro-discrimination or a slave-driving compromise that the founders made. It was actually just the opposite.”
:obscene-birdiered:
Republican Gov. Mike Braun gave a mealy-mouthed response to Beckwith’s slavery comments.

“I’m a believer that you better start thinking about what you’re saying before it comes out,” Braun said. “So, I’ll leave it at that.”
... Braun’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment about Beckwith’s latest comments.
Republican is a sickness.

Cadets who met all Air Force Academy graduation standards denied commissions because they’re transgender

They stood in formation at Falcon Stadium, diplomas in hand, having met every standard of physical endurance, academic excellence, and military discipline. But, on Thursday, when the time came for the U.S. Air Force Academy’s class of 2025 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to commission as second lieutenants, three cadets were quietly held back.

They are the first out transgender cadets to graduate from the Academy. And under a newly reinstated Trump administration ban, they will not be allowed to serve.

One of them, Hunter Marquez, had spent years preparing to become a combat systems officer. He earned dual degrees in aeronautical engineering and applied mathematics. He passed the Air Force’s fitness standards for men. And he did so as himself, having transitioned while enrolled at the Academy. “I really want to stay in for as long as possible, fight this out,” Marquez told The Colorado Springs Gazette....

Marquez, along with the two other graduates, was placed on administrative absence, barred from taking the oath, and warned he might need to repay the cost of his education if he refused to leave voluntarily, the paper reports. That education—funded by taxpayers—is valued in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. According to The Gazette, Marquez was later told by Air Force officials that if he is involuntarily separated, he won’t be billed. But the message was clear: his government does not want him in uniform.
That would be a crime to make him pay, but we taxpayers are still on the hook for bigot DonOLD's wastefulness. Doge? DOGE?
And yet, there is no question he met the standard. “We want warfighters. We want people with grit, that are resilient. They have done all that,” a U.S. Air Force Academy staff member told The Gazette, speaking anonymously for fear of retaliation. All three cadets passed physical fitness tests for both men and women. All three graduated with distinction....

The policy is not theoretical. It is personal. It has required cadets like Marquez to trek across dorms to find gender-compliant restrooms and showers. It has forced them to race through final semesters in case they’re expelled before graduating. And it has turned what should have been a joyful week of ceremonies into a lesson in resilience.

Marquez, now 23, is applying to the University of Colorado Boulder to earn an advanced degree in aerospace engineering. He is still receiving medical benefits and cadet pay, but he knows that may be temporary. “There’s still a lot of anger and frustration and sadness,” he said. “Just because I have worked so hard to be a second lieutenant in the Air Force, and at the very end that was taken from me.”
Scholar denied. :ateeth:
Academy alumni have responded with solidarity. Nearly 1,000 graduates have signed an open letter defending transgender cadets and midshipmen....
Heroes. Military.com:
'In No Way Incompatible': Service Academy Alums Sign Letter Supporting Transgender Cadets, Midshipmen

... Alumni representing every academy and a broad spectrum of generations have signed onto an open letter aimed at providing transgender and other gender-nonconforming students with encouragement as the administration disparages transgender service members, according to a copy of the letter shared with Military.com ahead of its wider release....

"These changes have occurred despite my successful academic and military performance at the U.S. Air Force Academy over the past four years, creating significant disruption and uncertainty at what should be the culmination of my education and the beginning of my military career," Marquez wrote in the statement. "My command has assured me that, from their perspective, my being transgender has had no negative impact on my ability to meet academy standards."

... "Unfortunately, because there are so few trans and non-binary cadets and Midshipmen, there's a lot of fear right now at the moment about speaking up," the (letter) organizer said. "We thought, in terms of what we could do, was just spread this message of support on behalf of alumni with something really having this personal lived experience that could speak to: 'We know what this takes. We've all been there. We've gone through this. And there's really nothing about you that is incompatible with this.'"

... Signatories on the letter include alumni from all five service academies. The oldest alums on the letter are from the class of 1968, and the youngest graduated just last year....

Emily Elledge, who graduated from the Naval Academy in 2012, said she signed the letter so that cadets and Midshipmen who "may feel right now as if they are under attack by the administration ... know that there are people who have also served this country who support them."

Having been at the academy when "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" was repealed, Elledge said she has seen firsthand the difference that being able to live authentically makes for Midshipmen. "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" was the policy that banned gay, lesbian and bisexual troops from serving openly and was repealed in 2011.

"They don't have to constantly be worrying about someone finding out something that's extremely important to them as a person, and I think that that allows people to then fulfill the mission better," Elledge told Military.com in a phone interview. "And then them living authentically didn't detract from anyone else's personal experience."

Another signatory on the letter, Jennifer Bower from the Air Force Academy Class of 2006, said she was shocked by the "hurtful" language in Trump's executive order and hopes that cadets and Midshipmen feel heartened by the support from alumni.

"For them to receive that recognition and support from people who know exactly what they are going through, from the perspective of what it takes to succeed at a service academy and to survive it, I know that that would have been very meaningful to me as a cadet," Bower said in a phone interview....
Academy alumni open letter in support of trans Cadets & Mids

To our trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse Cadets and Midshipmen,

We write as alumni of our Military Service Academies to let you know that we are proud of you, we support you, and we recognize the admirable character and commitment you have shown as cadets and midshipmen.

... we firmly believe that the simple fact of being transgender is in no way incompatible with any of our Academies’ cherished virtues and values. Rather, we understand that living authentically as a trans person, especially at our Academies, is often a profound expression of them.

While we have not yet served with you and may not know each of you personally, we know firsthand what it takes to enter into and succeed at our Academies. We applaud your commitment to our country, which you have demonstrated by swearing an oath to our Constitution and undertaking the tough Academy path to becoming officers and leaders. We admire the courage and integrity you have shown by living as your true selves, especially knowing that doing so could put you in professional and personal danger. And we recognize the discipline you have embodied, both personally and professionally, to succeed under the rigorous academic, physical, and military standards set by our Academies.

... Whatever happens, please know: so long as you continue to demonstrate the courage, integrity, discipline, and commitment that you have thus far, we will always be proud to count you among us and the long line of those who have gone before. Thank you for your commitment to our country, and for being who you are.

Signed,
(1000+)

Yeah, a fucking obsession. Find something to lie and whine about, then when that proves to be bullshit find something else. Some of the GQP are now demonstrating this concept....where they cry that "I didn't know that was in the biol" or some other lame ass nonsense. Hell, they were working on it for months. They must be really stupid to not know what they were debating. Or maybe they just know that a good part of their voters are stupid enough to go along with virtually anything they do. More than that.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harvey_Milk

Also a movie.
https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/milk
Navy Admiral On Pete Hegseth Renaming Harvey Milk Ship: ‘I Don’t Agree With It’

Retired Navy Adm. James Stavridis said Friday that he disagrees with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ordering the Navy to take the rare step of renaming the USNS Harvey Milk because Milk was gay.

“I am scratching my head about renaming the USS USNS … Harvey Milk,” Stavridis said on SiriusXM’s “The Michael Smerconish Program.”

“Because Harvey Milk was gay, we all know that. But today, gay sailors serve openly and with a great deal of pride in the U.S. military. I know many who are gay and are very competent, war-fighting sailors,” Stavridis said. “So when [the] secretary of defense says, ‘Hey, I’m renaming this in order to restore the warrior ethos,’ I just don’t get that at all.”

... Hegseth’s order is unusual, and its timing — coinciding with Pride Month in June — was intentional, per a Military.com report.

Asked for comment about Hegseth timing his order with Pride Month, a Defense Department spokesperson shared a statement from chief Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell that didn’t actually answer the question.

“Secretary Hegseth is committed to ensuring that the names attached to all DOD installations and assets are reflective of the Commander-in-Chief’s priorities, our nation’s history, and the warrior ethos. Any potential renaming(s) will be announced after internal reviews are complete,” Parnell said in his statement.

Asked again for comment on the timing of Hegseth’s order to remove Milk’s name from the Navy ship, the Defense Department spokesperson said only, “I do not have any additional information to provide.”
Coward, ironic.
... “I’m Greek American. Arguably the greatest general in history, Alexander the Great, was gay,” Stavridis said. “And oh, by the way, [gay] people serve at the highest level of the U.S. Cabinet today, like secretary of the treasury, who I think is doing a pretty good job with a tough hand of cards. [Scott] Bessent is openly gay.”

“So I don’t get it on why we need to rename this ship, this moment, and also to do it during Pride Month,” he added. “Just as kind of a shot across the bow. … I don’t agree with it.”

Someone else who doesn’t agree with this is former longtime House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who tore into Hegseth over the move.

“The reported decision by the Trump Administration to change the names of the USNS Harvey Milk and other ships in the John Lewis-class is a shameful, vindictive erasure of those who fought to break down barriers for all to chase the American Dream,” Pelosi said in a statement.

“Our military is the most powerful in the world — but this spiteful move does not strengthen our national security or the ‘warrior’ ethos,” she said.

Gay, lesbian and bisexual people have been openly serving in the U.S. military since 2011, when President Barack Obama signed a bill into law repealing the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy. President Joe Biden lifted a ban on transgender people openly serving in the military in 2021, but President Donald Trump reinstated the ban this year.
Milk:
Enlisted in wartime
Hero diver
Hero diver teacher
Hero community leader
Assassinated in service to his city
Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient

That resume justifies a ship name, regardless of his orientation.

O Really
Milk was serving as a diving instructor at Naval Station, San Diego when he was expelled. Maybe you could propose a statue on city, county or state land outside the base to honor Milk and deliver a :obscene-birdiered: to Hegseth.
