Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

The fearless leader is fleeing.

Fight! Fight! Fight!

Maybe they were serving TACO's for dinner.

MSNBC pundit: TACO's ego can't handle situations where he's one among equals and he was certain to be alone on both Ukraine and Israel-Iran. So, TACO TACOed out of there. Oh, and Mark Carney shamed him at the press conference. I missed the details.

This would be the largest public lands sell-off in modern U.S. history and it's happening with no hearings, no debate, and no public input.

See what public lands would be available for sale:
250+ million acres of public lands eligible for sale in SENR budget reconciliation package

I have hiked/camped/recreated on the dark green USFS lands in MT, ID and WY, and some of the Sierra Nevada from WA down to NoCal. I've worked to defend all of these lands and also in SE AK. Then, I've also played on several brown BLM areas from UT and WY down to NV. It will be a crime to see them all sold and developed  . Idk why there's nothing in the East. We have plenty of USFS here, and maybe some BLM.

Pisgah is 400,000 acres, same with Nantahala.

You don't need them for anything. :angry-cussing:

GOP plans to sell off millions of acres of public land, wealthy finally have their chance to own vast estates like nobility in days past.

https://www.americanprogress.org/articl ... -sell-off/
But bill text released by the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources on June 11—as well as amended bill text first published by Politico’s E&E Daily on June 17—contains sell-off language that’s substantially more expansive.

1. Hundreds of millions of acres of public lands are eligible for sale, 2 to 3 million of which must be sold in five years
News coverage has understandably focused on the bill’s mandate to sell 2 to 3 million acres of national forests and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands within five years. Less well understood is the fact that the bill makes more than 250 million acres of public lands eligible for those sales, including via nomination by any interested party.

...

But well-loved recreation spots, popular areas for hunting and fishing, prime wildlife habitat, and even sacred or historic sites could be privatized if the bill becomes law. That includes lands currently managed as conservation priorities, such as backcountry conservation areas, areas of critical environmental concern, and roadless areas. Worse yet, the bill wipes out any requirement that the government weigh the potential benefits of a land sale against lost recreation, clean water, wildlife, cultural resources, and other values.

...

Even lands sold for housing would carry no requirements for affordability or density, and there would be no significant guardrails to prevent valued public lands from being sold for trophy homes, pricey vacation spots, exclusive golf communities, or other developments.

...
I'd imagine most conservatives would agree that public land is a huge benefit to us all, even themselves. Especially those whom are avid outdoorsman.

Yeah, but it'll only take one who wants to play on their own "Yellowstone."

It seems other countries should step up. Why are we funding 50% of this?

Time for the USA to work on its own debt (Thanks to the Clowns in DC from both parties).

Excellent, you gonna vote out trump and Johnson who are going to explode the debt to benefit the 1%?

Yeah, right.

Foreign aid, which is most often a subsidy for US businesses, is a tiny part of the budget. Cutting it will have little impact on the deficit and debt, as is WIDELY known.

This is one camp reducing its rations by 50%. That does not mean that total aid for the camp will be reduced by 50%. Then, we don't know what the situation is for other camps, even other ones in Kenya. My understanding is that there are many nations that donate a greater proportion of their GDP to international charity. Then, it's sad to see someone who has lived in comfort for decades whining about where the desperate are getting their aid from. Finally, IF the case can be made that US giving is disproportionate suddenly slashing it is hugely destructive. TACO DonOLD could have announced a 2 or 3 year plan for reductions in order to allow other nations time to step up. The status quo is cruel, inhuman.

Of course not because the alternative would be worse. Democrats would raise taxes under the promise of reducing debt and then increase spending. Please note I also blamed republicans for the debt.

Forget Iran. We have the GQP Civil War to entertain us. Both sides are claiming to be the "real MAGA". Based on Dementia DonOLD's contradictory history, they may both be correct.

Yeah, both factions of the GQP are deep in the cult. Too late to turn back now. And both factions swear they're right and the other wrong. Typical right wing absolutism. But rest assured, whatever happens, each side in this hideous scenario will rationalize their position with the standard accolades to trump. All else will be disregarded. Hilarious. Pathetic. Shameful.

Think he'll make any news? 😱😁

Think he'll throw a trumper tantrum?

Think we'll still be a member of NATO by the end of the week?

Wonder if she knows the "one nation under God" part is from 1954 and not a part of either the Constitution or the Bible.
