So for some weird reason, there were 6 million Californians who voted for Trump in 2024. But Trump hates California and goes out of his way to take away whatever he can and not benefit this "dark blue" state at all if he could. Now quite of few of those 6 million aren't so happy here either for whatever reason so they likely thought "I hate Gavin; Trump hates Gavin, so I'll vote Trump." But now they should realize that because they live in CA, even as Trump voters, he's gonna treat them as badly as he treats Democratic voters and their little grudge vote didn't get them anything but a loss of health insurance, no fire/flood protection, ridiculously rising prices on everything - in short a kick in the ass by Trump's boot.

Understood. Just wanted to give an honorable mention to the train wreck that trump and his cult of Republicans is. Nah, it's actually a line from something Hunter Thompson wrote that sort of stuck with me. The concept of suddenly being aware, via instant clarity, what had previously been shrouded in some sort of mystery or ambiguity. I've actually read accounts of how some magats have pretty recently experienced this sort of thing. They all seem to be shocked, sobered, and rattled when they're able to see through the smokescreens.

Yeah, I've wondered for decades why working class folks vote for Republicans, who do nothing but shit on them. I keep hoping that by November next year enough of them will experience an epiphany and start voting in their own interests. It only takes one big black pig revealed by the headlights to arrive at that point. But I suppose some will not wake up until the second or third pig.

Well, they're not "escaping California" fast enough. Despite right wing distortions, the state has gained in net population the last two years, with the top 3 receiving locations being (3) Los Angeles (2) San Diego and #1

Yeah, but Asheville would fit in really well here. I'd put it out about where Valley Center is now, a little northeast of Escondido. It would be close to mountains, not far from a reservation with Casino, lots of access to parks, hikes, etc. Good arts, beer, and music communities, and would provide an additional alternative for visitors to Julian, a smaller boho mountain town sorta like Marshall was before the flood. Biltmore would fit nicely in the San Pasqual Valley, not too far from the Safari Zoo. UNC-A could become UC-A. They'd even still have their winter sports less than a two-hour drive from downtown. They'd feel right at home.

With Asheville NC has a chance of giving its electoral votes to a Dem.
