Americans, and including American news media, used to ridicule statements like that when they came from Pravda or "Baghdad Bob" with a broad understanding that it was just propaganda bullshit. Now Karoline et. al. stands there managing a straight face and spouts bullshit that would make Kim Jong Un happy. And everybody just lets it go by. Some days I really miss Dan Rather.
That's a really good point from a perspective I hadn't thought about.
I wonder what international late night talk shows have to say about us?
Eamus Catuli~AC 000000000101010202020303010304 020405....Ahhhh, forget it, it's gonna be a while.
It's no different whatsoever from Putin, or his mouthpiece, commenting on the death of a known dissenter saying something like, "we can't imagine what might have happened to him, but it looks like he tried to steal more chains than he could swim with."

I was thinking more of the Cold War days when anything and everything coming from Tass was met with a healthy dose of skepticism and ridicule.
Brezhnev is fine, he has a cold.
Andropov is well.
Chernenko is healthy!

Exactly, the media is on overload and they're terrified of paying out millions like ABC and CBS. So, they're way overly cautious about what they call out and how often they do so.
I didn't know about the USAF and Goldwater connections, but I remember Reagan's use very well. I was working as a peace lobbyist in the MT Leg when the RWers held a rally in the rotunda featuring that motto on a 10' x 3' professionally printed banner. After the rally they left it behind and one of the aides or interns told me it was at the info desk. I walked up to it and said we left our banner behind . I altered it to read: "PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH"
MEANS WAR
It joined many marches.
I hadn't thought about it in a long time. There's a slight chance that I still have it. If so, it will march again at the 7/17 "Good Trouble" protest, 40 years after I stole it.
Btw, in the 1980s the USAF or SAC motto was, "Peace is Our Profession", displayed at the gate of Malmstrom AFB in Great Falls, MT.

This is Sean Spicer on steroids telling reporters it was the biggest inauguration crowd ever.

She genuinely is an irony free zone. Hilarious
Lol did she just tell on herself and the regime she works in?
Wow I mean Orwell would be impressed...
They have killed irony and mastered the art of the ALTERNATIVE REALITY and gaslighting so much so they’ve gaslit themselves. It was the stupidest of times.
