She does a great Snidely Whiplash impression.

Good point, Kudlow. Are we committing to paying for incarceration for life? What are the annual rates? How many prisoners and does this include ones who have never been convicted of any crimes? How about prisoners with photoshopped knuckles?

Bove has been reported out of committee, a vote that the Dems walked out of, after obscene RepuQ restrictions on testimony and debate. A competitor for worst TACO judicial nominee in either term, he's one step closer to an appeals court post. :puke-left: Even "maverick" Thom Tillis (NC) voted for him. :angry-banghead:

Bondage has another hissy fit:
Pam Bondi says judge-picked New Jersey prosecutor succeeding Alina Habba has been removed

Attorney General Pam Bondi on Tuesday said the New Jersey federal prosecutor, who just hours earlier was named as the replacement for interim U.S. Attorney Alina Habba, has been removed.

Desiree Leigh Grace was named by Chief Judge Renee Marie Bumb as Habba’s successor under a statute that permits district court judges to name a prosecutor if the president’s nominee has not been confirmed by the Senate after 120 days. Tuesday was the 120th day since President Donald Trump had named Habba, his former defense attorney and one-time White House counselor, to the acting role. Bondi said the Justice Department won’t tolerate “rogue judges.”
 “rogue" = qualified and constitutionally appointed and confirmed judges.
White House spokesman Harrison Fields said in a statement that Trump has full confidence in Habba and that the administration would work to get her confirmed by the U.S. Senate, despite opposition from Democratic home state senators.
As I just posted. Humiliating for the Admin* that it hasn't happened already.
The back-and-forth over the state's top federal prosecutor unfolded as Habba has quickly established a high-profile, pursuing a rare prosecution against a sitting member of Congress.
That is a big screw up.
... Grace’s LinkedIn page shows she’s served as a federal prosecutor in New Jersey for the last nearly nine years. Under the law governing vacancies, the district court may appoint a U.S. attorney to serve until the vacancy is filled.
Oh look, far more qualified than "rogue" HabbaDabbaDoo.
Senatorial courtesy

Trump, a Republican, nominated Habba for the position pending Senate confirmation, but the state’s two Democratic U.S. senators, Cory Booker and Andy Kim signaled their opposition to her appointment. Under a longstanding Senate practice known as senatorial courtesy, a nominee’s appointment can stall out without backing from home state senators, a phenomenon facing a handful of other Trump picks for U.S. attorney.

Booker and Kim had questioned whether Habba met the standard to serve as the state's top federal prosecutor and accused her of bringing politically motivated prosecutions....
Heroes.
Tenure as top prosecutor

Among Habba's highest-profile prosecutions stemmed from a May visit by three Democratic members of Congress and Baraka to the Delaney Hall immigration detention facility in Newark. Baraka was arrested on a trespass charge stemming from his attempt to join a congressional visit of the facility. Baraka denied any wrongdoing, and Habba eventually dropped that charge.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Andre Espinosa rebuked Habba’s office after moving to dismiss the charges, writing that the move amounted to a “worrisome misstep” and calling the arrest hasty. Baraka is suing Habba in her official capacity over what he says was a “malicious prosecution.”

Habba later brought assault charges against McIver, a freshman representative from the city who first was elected in a special election last year, over physical contact she made with law enforcement officials as Baraka was being arrested....
Fascist idiot.
... But Habba has had limited federal court experience, practicing mainly in state-level courts. During the Carroll trial, Judge Lewis A. Kaplan chided Habba for botching procedure, misstating the law, asking about off-limits topics and objecting after he ruled.
MAGA = Sheer incompetence.

Trump’s gambit to keep Alina Habba in charge in New Jersey: Withdraw her nomination

The Trump administration believes it has found a workaround to keep the president’s former personal lawyer Alina Habba as New Jersey’s U.S. Attorney and outflank federal judges who sought to replace her.

It’s the latest move by the administration to put an ally of the president in a top law enforcement role and appears to circumvent the traditional role of the Senate in approving key administration officials.

As part of the gambit, a Justice Department official described a process that involves President Donald Trump withdrawing Habba’s nomination to permanently take the post. Then, Attorney General Pam Bondi would appoint Habba as First Assistant U.S. Attorney — typically the second-ranking official in the office. Because the U.S. attorney’s post is vacant, Habba would automatically fill the role on a temporary basis; she can’t simultaneously be the president’s nominee and serve as acting in this way....
 These people are children. You get a Senate confirmation or you nominate someone new. That's how America works.
... The judges earlier this week selected Desiree Leigh Grace, a longtime career prosecutor, to succeed Habba, infuriating Justice Department leaders who had hoped to keep Habba — a Trump loyalist — in the position.

:bs: Without "politics" you couldn't get a job emptying the trash at a US Attorney's office.
... After the judges’ order selecting Grace on Tuesday, Attorney General Pam Bondi fired Grace before she could take the acting U.S. Attorney job. Despite that, Grace still planned to take the job when Habba left, which was expected at the end of this week.

In a LinkedIn post on Wednesday, Grace said she planned to assume the role of interim U.S. Attorney at the request of the judges....
:wtf: Will there be enough time to install a mud pit in the foyer?

I think it's funny to have these people openly proud of the "acting" title. I'm pretty sure all of them are just "acting" - certainly Hedgehog, ICE Barbie, etc.

Fascism is here:
Another whistleblower claims that top DOJ official suggested department could ignore court orders

Another whistleblower has made claims to the Justice Department’s watchdog that Emil Bove — a top agency official who is now nominated for a judgeship — suggested others in the department could ignore court orders during a contentious legal battle in an immigration case.

The whistleblower, a former DOJ attorney in the Office of Immigration Litigation, told CNN documents have been filed with the DOJ Office of the Inspector General that appear to align with another whistleblower’s account that Bove tried to mislead federal judges during the administration’s aggressive deportation effort this spring.

“I think it would be incredibly dangerous for someone like that to have a lifetime appointment as a federal appellate judge,” the whistleblower said.
 :angry-cussing:
... While working as the president’s personal attorney, Bove helped defend Trump in his federal criminal cases, both of which were dismissed after his reelection last fall, and in the New York hush-money case, in which Trump was found guilty of all 34 charges he faced.
Opps.
Bove has repeatedly rejected the claims of the first whistleblower, who alleged in a letter that Bove said in a March meeting “that DOJ would need to consider telling the courts ‘f**k you’” if they stood in the way of Trump’s deportation efforts. During a confirmation hearing, Bove said he had “no recollection” of the claims leveraged in the letter.
... “It appears Senate Republicans are not taking seriously Bove’s nomination because they would rather rush to confirm him based on their loyalty to the president rather than take more time to investigate any potential allegations of wrongdoing” the whistleblower said....
Cultists. :angry-banghead:
