I think you just made a stupid headline......"weird to see Brian sitting there watching this soon after he died." I know what you mean, but a headline junkie would seize on this as quick as I did if it were in some media.O Really wrote: Mon Jun 16, 2025 2:01 pm Rerun of the Emmy's salute to the Beach Boys last night was good, but it was weird to see Brian sitting there watching this soon after he died.

Wow, Robert Clary made it to 96.In the context of the show, Washington portrayed the character of Sergeant Richard Baker. Succeeding Staff Sergeant James "Kinch" Kinchloe's place after actor Ivan Dixon left the series following its fifth season

Born 3/1/26 in Paris.
He survived by singing.... In 1942, because he was Jewish, he was deported to the Nazi concentration camp at Ottmuth, in Upper Silesia (now Otmęt, Poland). He was tattooed with the identification "A5714" on his left forearm. He was later sent to Buchenwald concentration camp....

All of the "Nazis" in Hogan's Heroes were Jews. IIRC, the deal was they would never be the hero of an episode.Vrede too wrote: Fri Jul 25, 2025 6:54 pmBorn 3/1/26 in Paris. He survived by singing.... Re: In Memoriam
Not just Jews but 3 of the 4 top German roles were German Jews (like my paternal grandfather's family) who fled the Nazis before or during World War II. The other was an American Jew.GoCubsGo wrote: Fri Jul 25, 2025 7:13 pmAll of the "Nazis" in Hogan's Heroes were Jews. IIRC, the deal was they would never be the hero of an episode.

Werner Klemperer (Klink) won the show's only 2 Emmys out of twelve nominations.

IMO, John Banner (Schultz) was the comedic hero of some episodes, at his expense.
