Just for Fun

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Seen elsewhere on the Internet: As some of you are already aware, trump has garnered the name TACO - Trump always chickens out.

Carolina leavitt has been called "Taco Belle". Air Force one "the panda express" because it flies around an orange chicken.

 I just now saw this. In the summer I stomp either barefoot or with just flips. In general, the stomp must be appropriate for the situation at hand. Should it be a poison lizard stomp, big thick black boots are needed to avoid all the blood that makes the ground slick. A casual stomp only needs a firm foot.

:D What do you stomp with something that's in between a boot and flip-flops like these Nike Chunky, Steel-Toed Air Jordans?

Image
(Regina George was the Queen Bitch in Mean Girls )
... During the segment, she pointed to male comedians like Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart, who use "mean humor" frequently. "Humor has been a cornerstone of politics for the entirety of history, but typically, you see it coming from men," she said. "You don't see people in Jon Stewart's comments telling him to 'Be nice, You're so mean.' So when it's a woman doing it, they're like, 'Woah woah woah, this is really mean,' and I'm like, 'Yeah, that's the point. I'm glad you're getting it.'"

"Anytime liberals have asserted themselves, conservatives try to back us into a corner by taunting us about being the party of love and peace. They've always weaponized our kindness and desire to do good," she told BuzzFeed.

"We can no longer afford to be trampled in the name of political correctness and diplomacy — the stakes are way too high. Assholes do not deserve our kindness. Shame and embarrassment is a powerful political tool."
Suzanne said that the "ruckus" her videos have caused — like angering MAGA supporters — is just further proof that her mean-girl strategy works. "I've made a lot of political content, and the MAGA women who are angered by it love to leave angry comments, mostly in all caps," Suzanne told BuzzFeed.
:violin:
Yet, many commenters also could not help but commend Suzanne's tutorial....

Image

Beyond the comments, Suzanne's video has literally kickstarted a worldwide trend of people recreating "MAGA" makeup looks. There are thousands of videos of people sporting orange faces while the country song "God Made Girls" by RaeLynn ironically plays in the background. The song itself repeats tired gender stereotypes, with lyrics such as: "Somebody's gotta wear a pretty skirt...Somebody's gotta be the one to flirt...Somebody's gotta wanna hold his hand...so God made girls..."

Image
 x thousands
Suzanne told BuzzFeed, "As a comedian, for a niche observation that I made a mental note of to then become a worldwide phenomenon is the coolest, wildest thing ever. I love seeing people laugh at the people who make our country worse."

Are we mean enough lefties here?
After Suzanne's video, Lucy Zhao, a master's student in media science at Boston University, made a viral video breaking down the trend and provided some real-life examples while spooky piano music played in the background (ya know, to really set the scene)....
https://www.tiktok.com/@facecarding/vid ... 9473172782
Wow, that's really mean.
For now, though, after watching Suzanne's video, many people are considering re-vamping their makeup routines.

Image
(lots of lefty appreciation)

... And to those who claim her approach is still too harsh, Suzanne said, "I ask them what planet they're living on, and if I can go there with them or if it also has a government that is making ASMR videos of deportation flights like the White House posted on social media." ICYMI, the White House's official social accounts posted a video of deportations featuring the sounds of shackles and chains and labeled it ASMR:

"I need them to join us in the reality that physically exists and not the one that exists only in their minds," Suzanne continued. "We've already done the kindest thing we can, which is vote for candidates who genuinely want to make our country better. We can still do good while clowning these absolute losers who support a tyrannical government." ...

"I think the result of that will manifest in tremendous gains for Democrats and substantial embarrassment for Republicans, but even if it only embarrasses Republicans, that's fine by me, too," Suzanne ended.

With that, I'll turn it over to you — what are your thoughts on the "MAGA makeup" trend?
I will try to up my ridicule game. Has it been lacking? ;)

It's gonna be fun around here for the next couple of weeks. We've got Pride day tomorrow, with a parade and festival and then next weekend we've got ComicCon. There will be so many people out cosplaying in so many really good costumes that hopefully ICE Barbie won't show her cosmetically enhanced face.

Too bad we didn't do this road trip 6 years ago to stomp lizards, maybe aliens and the deep deep deep state. We would have been immortalized in stupid video:

Last night on Antiques Roadshow, a guy brought in an ornate box the size of about a sixteen inch cube. It holds four crystal liquor decanters and has a hinged top with a bronze decorative front plate. The top of the plate is rounded while the bottom portion tapers out to a narrow end point. There are also four protruding thinner bands of bronze branching off the center area. Each of the four thin bands ends with four small pointed tips. As I looked at the box, it struck me in a blinding flash......that decorative plate on the front of that box looks just like what an about twelve inch long lizard would look like from above just after you stomp it. It was a true revelation and it made me want that box.

I don't remember exactly but I think it was a couple hundred dollars. They said it dated from between the 1890's to early 20th century. But I was stunned that the decorative metal hinge plate as a whole looked exactly like a stomped lizard with its arms and legs outstretched. I actually laughed out loud over it.

A couple hundred dollars would be worth it for a booze box that brings you LOL pleasure.

You could hang a pic like this over it:

The four crystal liquor decanters inside probably account for the biggest portion of the thing's value. But I sure thought it was a fine specimen. As for lizard distress, I celebrate it.
