Is there a government that can be trusted totally?
Probably not. "Totally" is a pretty strong standard. But there are literally dozens that have a better record of keeping their agreements, treaties, and promises than Israel. The US used to be one of those.
More than 250 media outlets in over 70 countries have staged a front page protest highlighting the killing of more than 200 journalists in Israel’s war on Gaza, the Reporters Without Borders (RSF) media freedom group says.
“At the rate journalists are being killed in Gaza by the Israeli army, there will soon be no-one left to keep you informed,” the group’s general director, Thibaut Bruttin, said in a statement on Monday....
... Sinn Fein leader Mary Lou McDonald on Monday said: “I do not believe that the Irish Central Bank at any stage should have been engaged in facilitating the sale of Israeli war bonds. There is a genocide at play, we are witnesses to that genocide.
“The Irish government and state has active obligations under the Genocide Convention, and that means the state, the government and the Central Bank should not be passively sitting back and observing a genocide and certainly should have no hand, act or part in facilitating any aspect or financing of that.”
... Social Democrats TD Gary Gannon said he welcomed that the Irish Central Bank will no longer be involved in the facilitation of the sale of the bonds.
“This decision, while welcome, is overdue. It has long been clear that Israel is engaged in not just a wholesale breach of international law and daily war crimes – but a genocide against the people of Gaza,” he said in a statement....
“It is now time for the EU to live up to its own purported values, on human rights and international law, and suspend its trade agreement with Israel and impose sanctions on its genocidal regime.”

They called for “forming an alternative governing authority composed of Arab states that have expressed willingness to take part in the mission, including the deployment of armed forces, and coordination with the Palestinian Authority, while maintaining Israel’s inalienable right to self-defense.”
Signatories include former chiefs of staff, former directors of the Mossad and Shin Bet agencies, ex-police commissioners, and former heads of Israel’s National Security Council.
On Aug. 18, the Palestinian resistance group Hamas accepted a Gaza ceasefire proposal put forward by Egyptian and Qatari mediators. While Israel has not responded to the proposal, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave orders to proceed with a plan to occupy Gaza City.
Israel has killed nearly 63,500 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023. The military campaign has devastated the enclave, which is facing famine.
Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
