I see UNC-Charlotte is on ESPN+, which I don't get but it occurred to me that there apparently are people willing to pay to see UNC-Charlotte.

Every ranked team should lose 10 places if they schedule a patsy and then run up the score.

AP Top 25 (patsy week 2)

1 Ohio State (57) 2-0
2 Penn State (5) 2-0 :puke-left:
3 LSU (2) 2-0
4 Oregon (1) 2-0 up2  ... after running up the score on OK St  Next: GoCubsGo's @Northwestern is going down ... in front of 12K fans?
5 Miami 2-0  Next: #18 S FL, a challenge
6 Georgia 2-0 down2 after not running up the score on Austin Peay :headscratch: Next: @#15 TN, a challenge
7 Texas 1-1
8 Notre Dame 0-1 up1 Next: #16 TAMU, a challenge
9 Illinois 2-0 up2 after trouncing Duke :( . GOGoCubsGoGO
10 Florida State 2-0 up4 after running up the score on E TAMU :ateeth: :puke-left:
11 South Carolina 2-0 down1 after beating South Carolina State :headscratch:
12 Clemson 1-1 down4 after Troy gave them a game

23 Michigan 1-1 down8  after losing to now #13 Oklahoma :headscratch:
24 Auburn 2-0 up from unranked after beating (running up the score?) Ball State 42-3

AP doesn't listen to O Really.
Running up the score is consistently rewarded.
Not running up the score is punished.

Or, as an alternative, if they schedule a patsy and the spread exceeds, say, 30, they have to actually give the patsy 30 points to start the game. Yeah, I know - the patsy doesn't have to accept the game, and they're making money. And if the ranked team has cleared its bench by the half, you can't really expect players who may not get another chance on field all season to just lie down and let the patsy score. But still, t'ain't right.

Creative, but it's probably asking for trouble to make the game directly dependent on bettors. It's already bad enough how indirectly dependent on gamblers it is.
