Re: 'Jagoff' Hegseth
I think military people have always resented the "suits" and "brass" that are so far removed from the realities of their lives and frequently come up with stuff that just makes no sense. Conversely, the rank and file "backbone" of the military doesn't necessarily have a grip on the biggest picture. So maybe Hegseth realizes this - and decides the best way to get everybody on the same page is to insult, belittle, focus on the inconsequential, yell, and put on a lot of theatrics.

Pizzagate Flynn didn't show his goddamn lunacy until after he left the service. That probably gave them the excuse they needed to remain silent even though his actions still besmirched the Army.GoCubsGo wrote: ↑Thu Oct 02, 2025 9:58 amWonder what the high ranking silent other ones were thinking?neoplacebo wrote: ↑Thu Oct 02, 2025 9:40 amGeneral Michael Flynn was a three star and totally supports all things trump. Too bad they won't do an anonymous survey of attendees after the Jagoff/DonOLD burlesque show.

Here’s the scariest part about Tuesday’s military pep rally: President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth — in their focus on grooming, fitness standards and “the enemy within” — seem oblivious to the reality that 21st-century combat will be dominated by drones and artificial intelligence, plus commanders who understand these high-tech weapons.

Breaking: The only signature so far is from Friendly Fire Barbie lapdog Benny Johnson.New York Times, AP, Newsmax among news outlets who say they won't sign new Pentagon rules
News organizations including The New York Times, The Associated Press and the conservative Newsmax television network said Monday they will not sign a Defense Department document about its new press rules, making it likely the Trump administration will evict their reporters from the Pentagon.
Those outlets say the policy threatens to punish them for routine news gathering protected by the First Amendment. The Washington Post, The Atlantic and Reuters on Monday also publicly joined the group that says it will not be signing. AP confirmed Monday afternoon that it would not sign....

Only One Media Outlet Has Agreed to Trump Admin’s Pentagon Press Restrictions: ‘Happy to Follow These Reasonable Conditions’
Just one.
Guess who.
... Meanwhile, One America News has agreed to adhere to the policy. Former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), who is now a host at the network, defended the decision.
“Frankly I’m shocked these weren’t already the rules,” he tweeted on Monday. “It’s the PENTAGON! @oann is happy to follow these reasonable conditions, grounded in care for our national security.”
If anyone knows “DUMMIES" . . .Gaetz’s post quote-tweeted a post by Hegseth that stated, “Pentagon access is a privilege, not a right.” He called those outlets refusing to sign on to the policy “DUMMIES.”

Re: 'Jagoff' Hegseth
Journalists turn in access badges, exit Pentagon rather than agree to new reporting rules
'Jagoff' is the correct appellation.
... “What they’re really doing, they want to spoon-feed information to the journalist, and that would be their story. That’s not journalism,” said Jack Keane, a retired U.S. Army general and Fox News analyst, said on Hegseth’s former network.
When he served, Keane said he required new brigadier generals to take a class on the role of the media in a democracy so they wouldn’t be intimidated and also see reporters as a conduit to the American public. “There were times when stories were done that made me flinch a little bit,” he said. “But that’s usually because we had done something that wasn’t as good as we should have done it.”
(Nancy, a reporter for The Atlantic) Youssef said it made no sense to sign on to rules that said reporters should not solicit military officials for information. “To agree to not solicit information is to agree to not be a journalist,” she said. “Our whole goal is soliciting information.” ...

His little "celebration" war games at Pendleton went as well as shooting live explosives over a major interstate could be expected. Only hit one State Trooper and one motorcycle guy from Vance's entourage.

They fire a bunch of stuff in Pendleton from time to time. Usually have a brief announcement that they'll be doing training and nobody should be disturbed. Hear a big boom now and then. But they've got a bunch of square miles to do that in, and there was no need to shoot over the 5.

They wanted I-5 witnesses, but Gavin screwed them out of that.
Comments:MeidasTouch
BREAKING: Live munitions from a Trump-Vance “military demo” flew over I-5 and struck a CHP vehicle. The White House wanted the highway open—but Gov. Newsom shut it down for safety. That decision likely prevented injuries or worse.
We have obtained these photos:
Did Hegseth provide the firing coordinates?
I suppose if it killed a someone they would try to say they were moving drugs
Imagine if that hit somebody's ear!!!
I read that it hit a motorcycle, and a CHP vehicle, that were escorting Vance.
I'd be worried if I were Vance...
I forgot about it, too.Oh, did the boys get out their boom booms and play war? I was busy with No Kings and forgot all about that

War criminals.Under the laws of war, you never attack anyone who is hors de combat: shipwrecked, wounded, defenseless, or already in your power. Those two men clinging to the wreckage were exactly that.
Ordering their death anyway crosses an even brighter line: the ban on no quarter - the absolute rule that you do not kill people who cannot fight back. Every commander knows this. Every officer is trained on it. These aren’t obscure legal theories. They’re the bedrock of lawful command.
Yet the Secretary of Defense still gave the order: “kill everybody” - after the first strike, after operators saw survivors in the water, after it was clear they posed no threat. A second missile was launched just to finish the job. Hegseth didn’t make a tough call. He made an unlawful one.
They know that some of the boats are not carrying drugs. So, eliminating all witnesses is the plot.
Still, Jagoff will just claim they were "drug terrorists", undeserving of our sympathy. With Dementia Don and Blondage backing him up, what are sane and decent people to do?

Drugs or no drugs, is it internationally legal to shoot a boat out in international waters? Maybe within your own boundaries to just shoot and sink it without any attempt to capture doesn't seem right. What would a rational US President say about a US boat getting sunk by Venezuela in international waters?
And if it is legal, somebody needs to look at those laws.
