I am just grateful it seems the protests were pretty much peaceful and Trump supporters just stayed home. That was the proper approach.

Re: Peaceful Protests
Sorting out a few facts from myths:
Trump is in power. He's the more or less legally elected president, and holds a slim majority in the House, Senate and a bigger majority in the Supreme Court. Fact.
Holding power, however, is not the same as holding a mandate from the people or even a majority of popular support. Trump et al. Hold a mandate only because they say so, and they get by with a lot of law breaking because the wheels of litigation roll slowly. But the Trump administration is losing more than it wins.
There are a lot of people who adamantly oppose some or much of what Trump does or how he does it. These people may include but are not primarily "leftists", loons, extremists
or paid demonstrators but are citizens, voters, and productive members of US society.
To treat these protest rallies as trivial or worse still the work of evil enemies is unprecedented in any presidency. Historically even the most partisan presidents have at least given lip service to the right of existence to the opposition.
The fact that Trump pretends it means nothing doesn't make it so

Add in the fact that by following the Project 2025 playbook and doing things by fiat that never would have been considered by previous presidents who respected the constitution in regards to the rule of law, separation of powers and norms established in 250 years.

"montage of No Kings protests in all 50 states and across the world":
https://www.instagram.com/p/DP_hTu4DRIj/
You may have to refresh the page to get the soundtrack, which is just musak rather than protest noise, anyhow.
The San Francisco human beach sign is cool. Prop 50 would allow a gerrymander to counter Texas.
The cavorting inflatable animals in Wasilla, Alaska are funny. It's where Sarah Palin lived. As I predicted I'm seeing these and furries in lots of the places. Deal with it, fascists.
The DC march was big, even though No Kings did not call for a DC march.
Austin - Eat that, Abbott.

Charlotte, nice!
Waimea, HI
Cool pics from Southern and Plains states, too.
Indivisible says, "... seven million of us ... We made Saturday the largest day of protest in US history ..." The 2017 Women's Marches, the day after the first inauguration of DonOLD, drew "Between 3,267,134 and 5,246,670 people."

But that was over a few months rather than a single day.... Protests quickly spread nationwide and to over 2,000 cities and towns in over 60 countries in support of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement. Polls in the summer of 2020 estimated that between 15 million and 26 million people had participated at some point in the demonstrations in the United States, making the protests the largest in U.S. history.

Cops being 1A-hating dicks to the dick.
Great minds . . .
More comments under the video.
A Fairhope woman was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest during a protest on Greeno Road on Saturday. Officers were dispatched following complaints regarding traffic hazards in the area. Upon arrival, an officer observed an individual in a phallic costume near the Baldwin Square Shopping Center. The officer approached the woman and requested that she remove the costume, which is deemed obscene in a public setting; however, she refused to comply. Jeana Renea Gamble, 61, of Fairhope, was subsequently charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest, both of which are misdemeanor charges.
Jeana Renea Gamble is my new hero. Maybe she's single.Surreal Video Shows Cops Tackling A Gigantic Penis During Anti-Trump Protest
Police said the costume worn to a "No Kings" rally in Fairhope, Alabama, was “obscene" and acted when the 61-year-old woman refused to remove it.
... In a press release, protest organizer Indivisible Baldwin County said “Gamble was peacefully expressing her point of view” and said her “violent arrest for expressing herself in ways the police found rude is indefensible, morally and legally.”

Dam. I was there ... before the cops came.
Best picture from today. Were the cops yelling Arrest that Prick? The cops weren't dicking around...Was she trying to rig an erection?
Earlier today, the exact same penis costume walked right across the National Mall towards Pennsylvania Avenue. They walked past a lot of cops, and I didn't see anybody get tackled or arrested.Cops are used to seeing a lot of dicks in DC
So much BDE it needed 3 cops. I legit hope she's ok and gets charges dropped.Oh I suspect she'll go far beyond getting charges dropped. This is a slam-dunk lawsuit.
I spent a 30 year career in criminal justice. I’ve never in my life been so disappointed over such a large number of police/ice/feds etc. as this time. Pathetic arrests, bullshit embarrassing Hummers we used to call them.
These losers must be desperate to keep these jobs. These shitty jobs.
I can't help but think that somebody's personal insecurities contributed to this arrest. I want to read the police report. "Subject maliciously assaulted bystanders with unreasonable expectations!"
THIS is why cops are LEGITIMATELY reviled.
Police overreacting, as usualThey look like absolute clowns.Actual διcks arresting a penis-costumed woman. Did they tackle her to the ground? Jerks.

If it wasn't Alabama it'd never even make it to a judge.
Hope she asks for a jury trial.

Re: Peaceful Protests
I guess there was some violence:
Rubber bullets are not supposed to be fired at noncombatants, nor aimed at face and head.
Who started the violence? Cops lie, so
.
Protester shot in the eye with rubber bullet during 'No Kings Day' rally in downtown Los Angeles
... "They just started opening fire on us, just spraying an obscene amount of rubber bullets just everywhere," Marshall Woodruff said.
... "The bullet fractured my cheek, and it tore part of my eye open, and I had to go into surgery for about four hours or five hours to get it repaired that night," Woodruff said. "And it's questionable how much vision I'm going to be able to get back or how much I'm going to be able to see out of my right eye. Right now, it's just a giant question mark." ...
