Epstein list release predictions and followup

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Hey guys remember when Trump's DOJ and FBI said there wasn't a client list nor evidence warranting investigation into third parties:

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cm2m879neljo
The US Department of Justice and FBI have concluded that sex offender Jeffrey Epstein did not have a so-called client list that could implicate high-profile associates, and that he did take his own life - contradicting long-held conspiracy theories about the infamous case.

...

FBI Director Kash Patel and his deputy Dan Bongino had previously questioned the official narrative regarding Epstein's death - although since joining the Trump administration, both have acknowledged that Epstein took his own life.

The memo adds that investigators "did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties".
So then why is he ordering his DOJ to conduct investigations all of a sudden, if those investigations "turned up nothing" and were already closed?

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cj97x2lere0o

You'd think these guys would at least be able to keep their story straight, but instead it's whiplashing all over the place.
Well, I will say that if an "investigation" is ongoing, that in itself may just be reason enough to not release anything pertaining to Epstein because doing so would "jeapordize" the new "investigation." So I think it's just a reason to keep all that stuff under wraps indefinitely.
I really think you're right and that's the only reason they're announcing an investigation. It's so blatantly obvious. Especially after having announced "Nothing to see here. Case closed"
 And just last night trump did a 180 on this, saying all files should be released. But just wait a few days.....the guy Bondi appointed to "investigate" all this (Jay Clayton) will come out and say that no further information can be released due to the ongoing "investigation." And just like that, trump magically says he wants the files released but there's an "investigation" preventing such release. They must really think we're all stupid.

It's worked for them so far. :problem:

Maybe they'll dump a bunch of files, but hold back ones they claim are crucial for the "investigation" . Who knows, Jay Clayton seems smart, qualified and with a breadth of life experience many other RWers don't possess - studied at Cambridge, Engineering degree, Beach Patrol and Penn Law rugby team, etc. MAYBE he'll do a competent job.

FWIW

He's not actually saying release the files, he's saying go ahead and vote to release the files.

He has the power to actually release them, all he has to do is call Pam.

Ricci, along with many others, clearly hasn't read the DSM regarding "pedophilia."

"Christina Ricci Lashes Out at Megyn Kelly for Claiming Jeffrey Epstein Wasn't a 'Pedophile': 'This Woman Is a Danger to Children'"
https://okmagazine.com/p/christina-ricc ... BRITY+NEWS

It's part of the overall trend to make everything sound as bad as possible, and to make all bad things equally bad. A "sexual assault" can now mean anything from violent rape to an unwanted butt pat. "Children" frequently include 16-17 year olds. Who knows all that's included in "abuse."

All that makes the topic and the problem less clear, not more so, and undoubtedly results in a lot of true victims not being taken seriously because of all the fluff.

Yeah, Kelly is technically correct, but society has never learned or used Hebephilia and Ephebophilia. As "the national spokesperson for the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) since April 25, 2007" Ricci certainly knows the distinctions.
She was probably the subject of both, but I don't know if she was ever assaulted or it was otherwise made overt. If it's her opinion that pedophilia is equally as bad she should still make her use of the terminology clear.

IMO popular RWer Megyn Kelly is a danger to everyone, not just children. ;)

I'm suspicious of him based solely on the fact that Bondi personally chose him for this position. And I've thought all along that since it became known that Bondi had dozens of FBI agents going through all that stuff bak in the summer looking for references to trump, anything blatantly damaging to trump or his buddies will never be revealed.

Idk what I would have guessed but not:

House votes 427-1 to release the Epstein files, sending bill to Senate
Rep. Clay Higgins, a Republican from Louisiana, was the only member to vote against the measure.

:wtf: That's how it goes with the Cult Leader's blessing.
... Trump told reporters on Monday that he would sign the bill into law if it were to reach his desk.

“Sure, I would,” Trump said. “Let the Senate look at it. Let anybody look at it.”

As many observers, including some Democratic critics, noted, Trump has the power to release the files himself without congressional approval....
TACO!
... In July, the DOJ and FBI released a two-page joint memo concluding Epstein had “committed suicide in his cell" and compiled no “client list” — adding that “no further disclosure would be appropriate or warranted.” ...
MAGA went nuts.
“These women have fought the most horrific fight that no woman should have to fight. And they did it by banding together and never giving up," (Rep. Marjorie Taylor) Greene said at a news conference alongside some of Epstein’s survivors outside the Capitol Tuesday morning. “That’s what we did by fighting so hard against the most powerful people in the world, even the president of the United States, in order to make this vote happen today.”
:-|| for each survivor.

As you say, this may have made the policy shift easier:

Jeffrey Epstein’s Brother Claims He Heard ‘from a Pretty Good Source’ That Epstein Files Are Being Scrubbed of Republican Names
"Jeffrey definitely had dirt on Trump," Mark alleged in an interview with NewsNation

They've had 4 months since the FBI letter sparked outrage, and the scrubbing may have begun before that.

My suspicion: Release of the list will now be delayed by lawsuits from anonymous men who think they will be named as associates of Epstein but who claim, perhaps truthfully, that they never messed with young women and girls.

I have a hard time believing there aren't multiple clean copies on multiple servers spread around who knows where.

A massive dump is gonna shit on DonOLD's parade sooner rather than later.

There are also some of Kash/Blondage's FBI agents who will tell the truth about what went on. So, then we argue endlessly over competing versions and competing lists. :angry-banghead:

What DOJ releases will be the Faux News version of it all. Sort of like the way the Faux News version of Jan 6th was. I guess we'll have to wait and see if what comes out will satisfy the trump cult or not.

Can't imagine what it would be.
Other than maybe just not wanting to get more deeply involved. Or risk getting sued by somebody or another on something they did or did not release.
Jeffrey Epstein's primary and only potential legal heir, had he died without a will, was his brother, Mark Epstein. However, days before his death, Epstein signed a will that transferred all his property into a private entity called "The 1953 Trust," the specific beneficiaries of which have largely remained secret from the public record.
While the exact terms of the trust are not public, court documents and reports have identified the following individuals as potential beneficiaries:
Mark Epstein His brother is still likely a beneficiary, and some reports suggested he was the primary remaining beneficiary as of early 2025.
Karyna Shuliak Epstein's girlfriend at the time of his death is the only other known named potential beneficiary, with a court document revealing she might receive $4.65 million in personal property.
Darren Indyke and Richard Kahn Epstein's longtime lawyer and accountant, who are also the co-executors and co-trustees of the will and trust, are named as beneficiaries of the estate, in addition to receiving fees for their services.
The distribution of the estate's remaining funds has been significantly delayed by lawsuits and settlements with his victims and government entities, with legal experts noting that all legitimate creditors' claims must be settled before any distributions are made to the heirs or beneficiaries of the trust. As a result, the ultimate value of the inheritance has dwindled significantly from its initial valuation of over $577 million
