Speaking of McCaffrey, late 1Q - 1st and goal from the 2 or 3 and Carolina ran O Really's favorite play, a pass. It was intercepted . They wouldn't have done that with McCaffrey.

On the other side Purdy is still rusty. He's thrown 3 INTs and several other wayward passes! 14/23. No prediction, but it won't surprise me if he's subbed out for the 2nd half. I would.

EDIT: And that's why I'm not an NFL coach. McCaffrey did just run for a red zone TD, though. 3-17

EDIT: Panthers did it again! Short 2-point try from the 1, pass . Incomplete. 9-17. Their running game has been good, 5.6 average.

We didn't have ESPN on our dish in the urban assault vehicle. Can't say I missed it. We have it now but, other than tonight, rarely watch it.

Dillon Gabriel cleared but Shedeur Sanders to start vs. 49ers

Rookie Shedeur Sanders will start at quarterback in Sunday's home game against the San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns coach Kevin Stefanski announced Monday.

Sanders, a fifth-round pick, will remain the starter even though fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel, a third-round pick, has cleared the concussion protocol, Stefanski said.

... Sanders, who became the 42nd quarterback to start for the Browns since 1999, also became the first Cleveland quarterback to win his first NFL start since Eric Zeier in 1995. The victory ended a 17-game losing streak for the Browns in games with a quarterback making his first career start. That was the longest streak by any franchise since 1950, when QB starts were first recorded.

... In eight games (six starts), Gabriel has completed 59.2% of his passes (109-of-184) for 937 yards, 7 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. The Browns went 1-4 in games Gabriel started before his injury in Week 11.

It ain’t 1990. Plenty of places to find content. But I do miss PTI.

The head coach is looking like a stud. This ain't the Eberflus/Nagy/Fox/Trestman Bears.

But unless the D gets healthy and better it's gonna be a short playoff run. The turnover rate isn't sustainable and it's too porous. A lot of guys should be coming back in the next few weeks.
