Donald Trump aired a head-scratching grievance involving his youngest daughter, Tiffany Trump, during his address at the U.S.-Saudi Investment Forum at the Kennedy Center in Washington on Wednesday.

According to the president, Tiffany was denied the chance of attending her graduation ceremony from Georgetown University Law Center in 2020 not because the entire world was shut down amid the deadly coronavirus pandemic, but because she is a Trump.

Trump launched into this ramble:

“She was a great student. She went to Georgetown. She was a great, great student and she finished really right at the top and we were proud of you. And she was so proud and her graduation got canceled because of COVID. But I say if her name was something else they probably wouldn’t have canceled it. They didn’t like that she did so well in school. They weren’t happy about it. I say, ‘They canceled your graduation because you were a great student and they didn’t want that…’”

“But other than that I have no problems,” the notoriously thin-skinned POTUS said, to laughs from the crowd, adding: “You see, I don’t take anything personally.”

Critics hit back with snark and pointed out that new mom Tiffany Trump, who welcomed baby Alexander in May, actually didn’t graduate “right at the top” of her class as the president had suggested.

It's just like Dementia Don to take the top educational achievement in his immediate family and turn it into an occasion for dishonest self-pity and ridicule. Poor Tiffany.

Oh sure Georgetown University canceled their graduation because of her last name? Does he have any idea how many other famous kids go to Georgetown?!?

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Georgetown University conferred degrees in virtual ceremonies for the Class of 2020 and initially postponed in-person celebrations, later holding make-up, in-person commencement events for the affected classes years later when conditions allowed.
