Oh, lying fershure. But I'd admit that some kinds of lies are worse than others. Maybe not in a moral sense, but certainly from a practical standpoint.

Yeah, but isn't it sad that you can believe nothing from the mouth of a President* of the United States without doing a Google search.
As a sad example.

That's why they call DonOLD's 2020 "The Big LIE". It's the gift that keeps on giving.GoCubsGo wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 2:52 pmYeah, but isn't it sad that you can believe nothing from the mouth of a President* of the United States without doing a Google search.

I think they at one time called it "alternative facts." For alternative Americans.GoCubsGo wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 1:20 pmIs that what we are calling lying now?O Really wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 1:16 pm
No question he is a master of embellishment.
True that. But it's one thing to claim to be a scratch golfer when you probably don't break 80 on your best day, quite another to claim the entire world economy would collapse if he didn't get to keep his tariffs.

Funny how ignorance can change everything. But Kellyanne or whoever it was who gave us "alternative facts" and became a bit of a national joke over it really should have known the term is "alternative SET of facts". One word makes all the difference.
On the other hand, I like the term "alternative Americans". Good term for these fools.

True, but this is not atypical, and the underlying pettiness and vindictiveness (not to mention the expected quid pro quo from Paramount). Policy preference aside, you still feel comfortable with this finger on the nuclear button?supesalemgr2 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 08, 2025 12:04 pmIt is not for me to defend every utterance from Trump. And we all know how much he relies on sound advice from others.

As far as I know, nobody - not even his most ardent supporters had ever before suggested that Trump has ever intentionally hired "cool heads" who would provide him with advice contrary to whatever he wanted to do. Maybe in the first term it turned out through luck that some did that, but they're all long gone - most villified on their way to the Gulag.

Upon further review, I think Supes is sitting in his den somewhere laughing his ass off and telling all his friends about how he scored a major coup in the owning of libs. Good job, Supes - you really had us going
