Football is only on Netflix and Amazon? I hadn't noticed. I have Netflix, but can't imagine why I'd want to watch what was the traditional 'Skins-Cowboys and have to root for the hated (and generally worthless) Cowboys. The world is upside down. And I'll bet they didn't expect the Swifties have a losing record and playing a third string QB (or maybe let Travis do it) for this game. Go Seahawks!

Remember when the one-footed Dempsey set the field goal record at 62 yards, thought for a long time not likely to be broken because of the "advantage" of Dempsey's special shoe? FG's in the 50's were last ditch efforts, and usually not successful. Now 50's are ordinary, three of them today in the 'Boys-'Skins game. New record is 68 yards and there were 7 over 60 yards so far this season.

Offset "soccer style" kicking, now the unanimous (?) norm had a big impact. Australians have also made a difference. I imagine there have been improvements in weight training, too.

Good point. The other effect of the $$ is that more men are attracted to the position and schools and pros have a bigger pool to select from.

I got pretty good at kicking a stationary soccer ball 50 yards. If I'd discovered this talent earlier than my late 20s I might have tried walking on at the U of MT. Probably would have failed, but who knows?

Never got the hang of placekicking, it's very form dependent similar to a good golf swing but I could punt pretty well.

Hey, maybe the Panthers will do me a huuuge favor this weekend!
