I'd somewhat agree with Supes that Democrats aren't doing nearly enough of the right things in trying to keep some semblance of what America has been for 250 years. What are "right things"? Something that has some reasonable expectation of either bring Trump under some control/influence of Congress and citizens will or gets rid of him. Whining about every little felony or Constitutional violation isn't gonna cut it, nor is constant emphasis on daily evidence that he's sleazy, corrupt, and totally self-centered. Babbling about the "25th Amendment" is ridiculous. That requires a majority of Cabinet members to vote to boot the guy who gave them their phoney-baloney jobs that they'll lose with a new President. Nagonnahappen.

Very few people are gonna change their minds about Trump because of scandal, illegalities, or general cruel assholiness. Everybody knows who and what he is. The only thing that has any change is by electing enough non-cultists and impeach and remove him. Dems should focus on elections and on mounting legal battles on all Trump efforts to tamper with them. It's ok to run against Trump, but that's not enough.

I think impeaching trump again would be stupid....one, because unless he did something really outrageous (as if he's not already done so on numerous occasions) it would be a losing thing with the whipped Republican Senate. I wonder if Bitch McConnell now regrets what he did. And second, if trump were removed from office we'd have Vance. It's like choosing between shock therapy or massive doses of Thorazine.

That article was total bullshit, but there are some good ways to save on grocery expense. Too bad the Trump administration* doesn't care enough to provide that information.

Edit: Yesterday our Von's bill was $30-something with a savings of almost $14. That included a Hormel pork loin at about half price, sharp discounts on mushrooms, ground turkey, and a couple of other items. We still go to the fishmongers sometimes, but we also look for salmon when it's $8.99 instead of $13.99. Lady O will plan meals, but we often change plans based on what's on sale. We have a lot of bean dishes, including soups, chilis. According to their app, we saved over $500 last year shopping sales, member discounts, and specials. If you add in the additional savings we get from buying some items at WalMart, it looks pretty good.

It's a sad irony that we middle and upper class folks have access to better food selections for cheaper than the barrios, ghettos and trailer parks do.

Part of it is accessibility; part is actual purchases. Our Von's (and Albertson's would have the same thing) will put stuff on a great sale but you have to but 4 to get the sale price. Not gonna do any good for a person with no discretionary income. They had one recently that shoulda been scarfed up by everybody - beans (black, cannellini, great northern, kidney) all on sale for .69 if you bought 4 or more.

Reading what you wrote about beans made me think about the other day when I happened to see the old "Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid" movie where Bob Dylan (his name was Alias in the movie) reed the lables from cans of things on a shelf. That movie also has the best death scene I've ever seen....the old sheriff (Slim Pickens) is shot and is dying and while that happens his wife looks on as Dylan's "Knocking On Heaven's Door" plays as the soundtrack.

Redact the "Trump" name. Separate from anything her husband* has done or anything you may think about him. Now name any former First Lady who was more worthless (as a First Lady) or who did a poorer job of representing the country. First Ladies have been criticized in the past, but it was mostly for things they were trying to do, or a difference in idelogy (like Pat Nixons "Just Say No"), but not because they did absolutely nothing or that they attracted international ridicule to the position or country.
