Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

You know it must be bad if they're giving cold-weather dressing advice to Chicagoans.
:problem:

52/31 tomorrow, sleet and snow on the weekend, -4 low on Monday. Too bad there isn't more football.
Worse than sleet and snow.

Looks like I'm in for up to half an inch of ice. It made me go  enough of this ICE shit. Lizards will be falling out of trees and be out until March at the earliest. I also like stupes approving of the improved quality of forecasts. I wonder if he knows that the trump cult is going to shut down a major weather (NOAA I think...maybe NWS) facility of the federal government in CO. I wonder if he gives a damn if he even knows about it. I wonder if he'll lament the future less accurate info that result from this great decision. And I wonder if he'll make the connection to the fact that CO is run by Democrats. I wonder if he'd be opposed to the government spending billions of dollars to move that facility to, say, Texas or Alabama. Oh, let me guess....he'd be all for it based on the fact that those facilities would be closer to him, all the while disregarding the fact of current instant communication. I just wonder.

Does ice cure measles, or at least prevent it from crossing the border from SC?

You don't get Premier League games?
Some. I don't like soccer on TV that much until we get to top tier. I also prefer international and women's matches.

I'll leave the hand wringing over location of weather forecasting to Neo.

No hand wringing; just pointing out yet another petty stupid decision by the leader of the cult of lies and ignorance.

I'm hand wringing. Slashing NOAA, NWS and the NASA climate budget is especially egregious now that we're seeing such frequent climate disasters largely as a result of GQP policy. It's particularly offensive that Helene survivor SoupySales is apparently dismissive of these cuts.

Then, there all of the other reductions in science funding, along with self-dealing. We used to lead the world in credible research. No longer. :angry-banghead:

The real hand wringing will be if FEMA is actually needed in North Carolina.

Red states may get a little relief.

I can't wait, bring on the apocalypse. I've not been out obviously, but I've heard from plenty that gas stations were out of gas with everyone stocking up like it's the end of the world with gas cans and such.

If there's a silver lining to Helene, it's that the weaker trees and tree limbs have already been taken out.

It may mitigate the worst of it.

Idk, but I think there's an endless supply of trees and limbs that were weakened by the previous storm.

From my understanding there's less of a likelihood of entire trees toppling from the roots like during Helene, but a higher risk of branches cracking off and falling. 🤞

From my experience that is true. Falling branches and weight of ice on lines are the basis of problems from ice.

Winds will be steady 17 mph here. :problem:

EDIT: Gusts to 30-40 mph. Sorry.
