CPF: The Ten Commandments are the basis of society.

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

But isn't human nature supposed to be above that of a dog? Oh wait.....never mind. What was I thinking!?
Not really. First thing we do when we pop out is start squalling for food.

Greed used to be put to good use for survival purposes. Greed for power meant the next tribe over wasn't going to usurp your resources.
Point is, greed is in our human code. Had you been dumped on the street and left to fend for yourself, you'd have been greedy for food and warmth, both necessary for physical survival. You would have been greedy for companionship, necessary for the survival of the species. You would have killed anyone who tried to deprive you of sustenance, like two stray dogs fighting over a discarded MacDonalds bag. If you find a tribe (or a pack), then it becomes survival of the community.

Nowadays, survival is all about money, and greed has come to mean something else entirely. Still, if you have enough money, you can buy food, shelter, and companionship, and maybe you can buy a bit more time before your final departure.
Se Non Ora, Quando?
